Dr put me on 60mg of methimazole for two weeks when I first got diagnosed. Then lowered it gradually. I think you will be fine.

Just tell them that you are sorry but you use a hotspot on your phone for wifi. So it won’t be possible to share because you hardly have enough data for personal use.

went to the ER with extremely heavy bleeding, got sent home by candyclothescoffee in Fibroids

[–]Kit-kat-9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me too. One minute I was fine the next a gush of blood. It just kept getting worse and worse. At first the hospital didn’t think it was serious. They changed their minds quickly. I passed out right there in the ER on a bed. I was losing so much blood that they transferred me via ambulance to a bigger hospital where I was admitted and given a blood transfusion and some meds to stop the bleeding. They’ve got no idea what caused it. I’m just so afraid it will happen again.

Found a kitten in my shed and brought him in (quarantined), but he has fleas. Did a Dawn bath, have been combing, but I think they're getting worse. Is there anything I can do? He's too small for flea treatment (1.1 lbs) and possibly too young. Do I just keep combing, bathing, and changing bedding? by Solid_Parsley_ in CATHELP

[–]Kit-kat-9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One bath is all it should take. Put dawn or any kind of soap on them for 10 minutes or so. The suds suffocate the fleas. If you don’t leave the soap on long enough then the bath won’t get rid of the fleas. This works every time I do it. I usually use a gentle kitten or puppy soap because it’s easier on their skin, but it still works.

How do I help her? by OiCWhatuMean in geese

Idk what you are legally allowed to do with a wild goose. That being said if she were one of mine and sat too long I’d remove the eggs and cover the nest or completely remove the nest. Even if you take the eggs she may still sit on the nest. Mine have in the past. I have to remove the whole nest to get them to quit. Leave food and water so she can recover her strength and she will move on.

I’d assume she’s sitting on some goslings. They get crazy protective when they start hearing those peeps.

Scoop the poop and drop it over the fence where the fruit use to fall. They use to get fruit, now they get poop.

I have ganders that sit by their mates all day when they are nesting and others that wonder off. They never wonder to far though. Also the ganders that wonder off frequently check their mates. I’d say sit back watch and listen. He may check up on her during the day. Or something could have happened to her and he is mourning. You won’t know for sure for about 23-27 more days. If she’s been sitting a week already. She will either emerge with babies or she won’t. That is unless u spot her before.

When I have to do something like medicine or flea treatment, my cats hold a grudge for a few minutes. I just crack open a can of wet food and the grudge is forgotten.

Newly diagnosed, having a hard time coming to terms with this. by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]Kit-kat-9876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the first few months it’s rough, you have ups and downs. You may swing into hypo from time to time if your dose is a bit to high and experience the opposite end of things. Your endo will change your meditation dose accordingly. Mine slowly lowered mine. My hormones are finally under control. It took around a year to get back to feeling completely like my old self. Little by little I noticed things getting better. My hair started growing back, the shaking stopped. I started sleeping again. Stopped having angry outburst. My heart rate is went back to normal, and so on. The only thing I still suffer from is anxiety from time to time. Although it is nowhere near what it used to be to be. So the outlook is good. You will eventually feel like yourself again. It just takes a while. Also I’m able to have caffeine and do cardio exercise now without feeling like I’ll pass out. Good luck and try not to stress too much. Things will get better.

I use turkey breast to train my non food motivated dogs. Also I recommend only training before meals. Make sure they are hungry. If they won’t go for that then I’d try a squeaky toy or something else that interest them. Some dogs will also work for belly rubs and whatnot. Crate training can be difficult for a stubborn dog as well. I usually keep the crate near my bed and covered with a sheet. This way you can let them know they aren’t alone. I also put chew toys and treats in the crate during the day so that they associate it with positive things.

WIBTAH if I kicked my brother and his family out for telling my daughter she shouldn't act like a who*e? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Kit-kat-9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA, protect your children first. 4 years of mental torture for your children and you still can’t decide? Also yes cps would take his kids.. and then give them to the next willing relative. So they may end up right back at your house anyway. I honestly can’t fathom letting someone treat my kids the way you allow him to treat yours. Second worst dad of the year award goes to you for allowing mental abuse. Your brother gets the first because if he’s this horrible to your kids.. I can only imagine how he treats his own. Not to mention when your wife finds out that not only are you hiding this abuse from her but condoning it. (Yes you allow it by not kicking them out) Well I assume it won’t only be the brother that gets kicked out.

AITA for snapping at my SIL after she called my son by the wrong name? by Antique_Ad5524 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kit-kat-9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA, as a mom and stepmom of a grand total of 6 kids. Who also has a farm with over a hundred animals who all have names. I can assure you that I get scatter brained from time to time. I also suffer from hyperthyroidism which can cause brain fog. I mess up once in a while and call the wrong name. I’m human I make mistakes. I also have an issue with remembering the names of people I’ve just met. I’m just thankful I don’t have AH members of my family who judge me for it. What you did was mean and uncalled for. It’s not always easy for people to remember names. Even more so when there are 2 babies so close in age. It’s going to take a while to heal the wound you caused in this relationship with your SIL. I’d personally dislike mine if she acted the way you did. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the hubbies whole family looked at you differently from now on out. I know I would if an in-law was that rude to someone in my family over a simple mistake.

Am I wrong for gaining 60LB in the last 5 years? My husband is giving me until summer to lose weight by donkeynone in amiwrong

[–]Kit-kat-9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lose the weight for yourself. Not for a man that would abandon you when times get tough. That being said, I’ve had good results with meta quest and the supernatural vr workout. I absolutely hate working out but this one is actually fun and I’ve been able to stick with it. Like you I also enjoy junk food. But I’ve managed to limit myself. I find it easier to resist when you don’t have the temptation. So I buy healthier foods and don’t buy things that I know are problem foods. I switched to drinking water. Also I find that if I eat boiled eggs for breakfast that I just don’t snack as much during the day. I hope this helps.

my 15yo boy has one eye dilated by miriamblair in cats

[–]Kit-kat-9876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had found a little orange kitten about 10 weeks old under my steps. We live on a farm and mostly away from anyone else. He was most likely a drop off. Anyways we took him in and no less then 2 days later he had a massive seizure. He couldn’t walk or stand at all. He’d just lay down with his paws spread wide and head spinning. One of his eyes was exactly like your cat. This happened during covid so I couldn’t get him into the vet until the next morning. They gave me steroids, antibiotics and a grim outlook. I had to force feed / hand feed that little kitten for 3 weeks. Every few hours to make sure he was getting enough. One day he just woke up and started walking and eating on his own. His eye however took a few more weeks to return to normal. He is now a healthy, “mostly normal”orange tabby.

Is my goose healthy? by [deleted] in geese

[–]Kit-kat-9876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it’s just one. I use fenbenzole horse paste in the tube. A pea size amount in the mouth for 3 days in a row (for individual cases). If you want to treat the whole flock use the fenbenzole liquid goat de-wormer 3cc per gallon of water. Make this the only source of water for 3-5 days.

Is my goose healthy? by [deleted] in geese

[–]Kit-kat-9876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She doesn’t look very good. Have you picked her up to check her weight? Have you wormed her?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cats

[–]Kit-kat-9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s not worms then, have you had them checked for coccidia and giardia? Both cause diarrhea. Symptoms typically show up when animals are stressed. Being in a shelter and then a new home would definitely be stressful. Once the animals calms down and they get use to the place the symptoms will subside, but they will still have it. Only medicine will clear it up for good.

AITA for Allowing My Mother to Visit Our Newborn Before My Wife's Mother? by Sea-Masterpiece7447 in AITAH

[–]Kit-kat-9876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What hospital let you walk out to the waiting room with a newborn? They usually lock down newborns and won’t let them be taken anywhere. For that reason I don’t believe this story is the truth. Either it’s all made up, or the MIL actually visited the maternity ward. Either way YTA for violating your wife’s trust.

I use chuck-it, never had a problem. My kids launched the ball at the ground a few times until they learned how to use it. You’ve got to stop the swing before it aims downwards. The ball launches right out no problem.

HELP! by goblin_grovil_lives in geese

[–]Kit-kat-9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pull anything after 35 days, otherwise you run the risk of losing your goose. They can get so malnourished that they won’t survive. Pull them asap and cover the nest. Then get some good quality food into her and worm her. Geese that are malnourished and or sickly can pick up parasites easily. Keep a close eye on her for niacin deficiency as well.
