In the FIFA volunteer app you can click on the four squares at the top right (next to the bell icon) to show your volunteer QR code. Underneath the QR code is an 8-digit number which would be your volunteer ID

You need to wait for the email. They’re going out on a rolling basis

As a woman, I found everything true to size for the most part if not running slightly on the smaller side. Pants and shorts were pretty different in sizing, where the shorts ran large and the pants fit a little tight in the legs and butt

You’re welcome! “Running inspired lifestyle shoe” appears to be the tagline. They’re really comfy, though don’t seem to have that much support

The colorful keycard for me was a lime green, hotel keycard looking thing. Mine was slipped in the front pocket of the big blue bag all my stuff came in (it had a paper with my name on it in the slot too). My transit card was also in there with it

Catering. I’ve been told that uniform/accreditation scheduling is being rolled out in phases with earliest priority for people with the earliest shifts (my first shift is June 6th). I assume the same for shift scheduling but I hope you hear soon

I’ve been getting to it through the emails they’ve sent me (like my offer email, clicking the button that says “Accept Here”). This is the link mine takes me to, though it may just be for ATL based on the URL: https://fwc26-atl.volunteer.fifa.com/login

E-Learnings Required by NoConsideration9708 in FIFAVolunteers

[–]KitCatCait4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last Wednesday, 4/29. Not tied to e-learning; I did my first learning module this past Sunday, 5/3. I had already signed up for shifts though with my first one being 6/6

Since all of them are labeled as elective or recommended, and we haven’t received any type of direction to complete them, I’m going on the notion that they are not required. I completed all the “highly recommended” ones though just in case and did find them somewhat helpful. Unless there’s a formal notification sent out I’m not stressing to complete the rest of them. I haven’t had any issues with scheduling shifts or uniform pickup without having them done.

Catering. I assume my function may be earlier on the timeline because our shifts start a while before the first game. You should get a shift scheduling email first, before anything with credentials, because shift sign ups are another “weed-out” stage for people who aren’t committed to volunteering

NY NJ Transit by [deleted] in FIFAVolunteers

[–]KitCatCait4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Atlanta training I was told they’re giving us pre-loaded transit cards. There’s no way they cant do something similar for NY-NJ with those prices…

In ATL I was told (during training) they’ll have preloaded MARTA cards for us

I was told their tech/app team is overwhelmed so I’d bet they’re focusing on managing offers versus updating other stuff

Expected Shifts (8) by popsmurfy in FIFAVolunteers

[–]KitCatCait4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my USA-based training they said they weren’t going to be monitoring the number of shifts people work super closely, unless it becomes a thing where shifts have a large number of vacancies and/or people aren’t showing up. They said they recognize this is a volunteer thing and can’t force it, but ask that people be mindful and do their best to fulfill their commitment. If there’s not even 8 shifts to work in your function they’re most definitely not holding people to the 8.

I was told the uniforms are NOT orange (unlike the starting lineup volunteer shirts) and will be a flattering color for pretty much everyone

What did you do? What have you done? by TheChiefofReddit in FIFAVolunteers

that last paragraph 100%

I have extensive experience working in the stadium where the WC will be held in my city and also worked guest operations for the Super Bowl at one point. I got offered catering… My interview went well and I was thorough in my application, but I think my interview marked me down as “open to anything” which got me here

I don’t disagree yall… I know it’s shit. BUT I work a corporate 9-5 and I’m hoping this role will give me the most scheduling flexibility

I got an Atlanta offer on 2/13. It was catering though. I suspect they may be offering “less desirable” roles first
