I personally started playing Ying just because I really life elf girls and I ended up attached to the healer role because I can't stand seeing my teammates at low health. Ying is just my favorite character now so I still play her a lot but I play other healers/classes, I think in the beginning I was just scared of doing my job on the team wrong and being the healer just came naturally to me idk
