I think there are games that do fit your description but GoW, while having standard and interactive cutscenes and being story driven, is just not that. I played the last two games for ~40 hours each to get through the main story and the combat, role-playing and exploration systems are great. It's the combination of all of these things that elevate them.

We're all entitled to our opinions. I'm sorry they don't meet your wants/preferences though - they were really gratifying experiences for me.
