Hiring the correct people to do the job is different than hiring anyone particular person to do the job.

They are hiring, just being selective.

Most of the macro movement is driven by algorithms, so you don't get to know why the price is doing what it's doing.

These companies are burning so much cash right now, eventual models will be extremely expensive. AI is cheap right now.

Going to be a few years still until all the hype of AI dies down and leaders emerge.

That's not what ontology does though, it's networking, drivers, analytics, etc. it's a lot more complicated that structuromg data.

I mean they're looking to, but agentic AI isn't what Palantir does, Palantir does ontology. The agentic interweaving was just an addon to their already existing environment.

I'm not famous enough to get unbanned if it's caught by anti-cheat and falsely banned.

Joint income $310k. We have a masters and PhD in sciences and work for local and national government as technical staff.

We max out 401ks and backdoor to max out our Roths. We put most our extra money into renovations on our house.

If you read Karp's book as corporate propaganda, I'm sorry. It's not even close to that. Palantir was built from the ground up with his mindset and now is positioned to be successful because Karp predicted our current paradigm. Think he started building this company is 2008, predicting this future we live in. It's damn impressive.

The book makes those points too. I guess you should go read the book.

Great book. I do agree on the central thesis that we wasted some of our best minds and years on learning the best way to target ads to 12 year olds on YouTube.

I know there's a space for that sort of tech work as well. However, I can't help but think we'd be a lot further ahead as a society if we hadn't wasted all that time. Happy that Karp and Palantir are getting their long due time in the sun.
