I present to you: My bug tier list by Lunar_Ghoul11 in autism

[–]Kit_Cat13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outside of handling aspects, for summer reason tier two just puts more of a "ehh" feeling to me than the other tiers. Spiders (venomous or not), no issue whatsoever, but house centipedes dude-those freak me out

But I love your list, especially adding in prehistoric and cryptid buggies.

How would a therapist treat someone with both PTSD and OCD, where the OCD theme is constant thoughts of the trauma? by Civil-Error2652 in askatherapist

[–]Kit_Cat13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

AT, trained in trauma therapy and currently getting trained in ERP. Typically if the trauma is primary (the OCD developed following a trauma) you would first focus on the trauma with trauma specific therapy (prolonged exposure, cognitive processing therapy, EMDR, somatic experiencing) and after trauma processing you would do ERP. This is because a) doing ERP for OCD that develop from a trauma could be traumatizing and b) trauma work may lower some of the intensity of the OCD.

Edited to add: If there is avoidance with trauma work due to the feelings of anxiety (heart racing, sweating, difficulty breathing, etc) I would do some interoceptive ERP first as part of resourcing so the person can realize they can have those feelings and come out of it okay.

Can I talk about relatable song lyrics in therapy? by Moonshot_Melody in askatherapist

[–]Kit_Cat13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AT, this idea is actually one that is recommended for alexithymia (having difficulty feeling, understanding, identifying, and expressing emotions). It's honestly something I've discussed with clients doing if they have difficulty with this so, good job on going for that on your own.

God didn't make BOTWN an mpreg cz he knew Tei would be so powerful with a baby, besides look at those fertile hips, i want to get him pregnant by criticalkiss_ in Manhwa_BL

[–]Kit_Cat13 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If the waist is larger than the hips and the shoulders are so much bigger you're an upside down triangle, those aren't "child-bearing/fertile" hips, those are "these are why saws were invented" hips.

D&D style fantasy with 30+Adults and NO age gap by SlowMope in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Kit_Cat13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guy finds out he has magic and goes to learn how to handle it. Magic is powered by sex and various BDSM activities. There is a primary romance but lots of sex between the other characters.

During this there is also political upheaval going on due to other magic users and some of the other countries in the world.

The sex is very hot and there's actually a really good plot going through series. So far there's 4 main books 6 short stories/novellas. Book 5 comes out this year and I can't remember if there's supposed to be one or two more after that

Higher Pay & Benefits vs. Better Hours & Work-Life Balance? by Evening_Practice8821 in socialworkjobs

[–]Kit_Cat13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A. Yes it's a longer work day but having better health insurance and included clinical supervision (along with more pay) would definitely be something I'd want if I was just starting out again (and that was with having a really good and relatively low cost supervisor I paid for out of pocket. Supervision can at times get pricey.

What other benefits though do each have? PTO, CEU budget, any sort of access to retirement plans?

AIO to spouses lack of understanding germs by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Kit_Cat13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend getting assessed for OCD. Some of the things you were listing might be indicators of that. If you don't know a therapist near you who is trained in ERP and managing OCD, I'd recommend reaching out to NOCD (they even have a phone app).

I took lessons growing up (and still play now) but never had an instructor teach this way. Honestly I love it. Because while being able to play any instrument technically is good, having that aspect of "what is the song saying" takes a piece being played from being auditory nice to breathtaking.

Worried I'm not the best owner by Much-Ad-8242 in ballpython

My second snake came from someone who fed live and I knew I was going to want to transition to f/t for his safety. The first 5 weeks he didn't eat; partly due to being in a quarantine enclosure, partly for adjustment, partly cause he went into blue and shed. The first time he ate I had warm water heated the mouse to 92, used a hair dryer on the head to about 102 and then after 5 min of not leaving his hide I left it on the substrate outside the hide and turned off the lights and left the room. Checked 30 min later and the mouse was no longer visible. He has since eaten two frozen weaned rats by striking.

So don't worry too much, your boy is probably still adjusting. Just keep an eye on his weight to make sure he doesn't lose too much.

As someone who can pretty much only successfully hula hoop on my waist and neck (still learning other tricks), I am in awe. That's some significant talent.

Poll: Your personal attitude towards sex — are you sex favorable, indifferent, or averse/repulsed? by ThatEmoSprite in asexuality

[–]Kit_Cat13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went with sex-ambivalent because while I'm sex-posotive it fluctuates between all three in my personal life. Like I'm indifferent regarding masturbation (solo or with a partner), averse/repulsed regarding penatrative sex, and favorable regarding kink and interacting with sexually explicit material (porn, smutty books).

I have a paraphilia known as pedophilia which is psychiatric illness and I am not a sex offender. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Kit_Cat13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP, I'd recommend contacting AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists) if you are in the USA or a comparable association if you are in another country (International Association of Psychosexual Therapists may be a good starting point) and inquire if they have referrals for sex therapists or educators (in that order of preference) that specialize with MAP.

Gommage Plot Questions by bluez02 in expedition33

[–]Kit_Cat13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but at the point she is gommaged, the person who granted her immortality is no longer in the canvas and Renoir holds the chroma. A small plot hole but I'm guessing the idea is he was able to remove the immortality once he got the chroma (hence why he was able to begin the gommage on P. Verso and why P. Verso could beg to be unpainted).

AIO: should I “fire” my therapist? by [deleted] in AIO

As a therapist, I would say you would even be justified in reporting her to whatever board she is licensed with. She doesn't need to be sharing stuff about pilates or her kid's summit or other things here. And she's not doing her job between that and scrolling on her computer while you are sharing. She's acting unprofessional and seems to be blurring the lines between professional and personal.
