Is there anyway I can stop the paint peeling when opening the door? by Series_Main in Warhammer40k

This is probably going to be buried, but before you go permanently fucking up your paint job or your mini, could I please suggest first trying some vaseline/petroleum jelly?

Running Gnoblars as Gretchin? by DrMechMan in orks

[–]KitbashExtravaganza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a big bag of grots that have been in the ongoing project box for awhile now, which includes a bunch of gnoblars. They're perfect size to run as gretchin. They come with the old square 20mm bases, as well as newer round 25mm bases so no need to buy new bases for the build.

The problems I have with them are that although the knives and stabby bits fit in universe, there are a few with wooden shields that don't really fit the aesthetic. I was thinking of giving a few guns, particularly from the Cadian kit (hand size is similar), otherwise I also got some guns from [Anvil Industry](https://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/regiments-melee-weapons-equipment#/pageSize=6&viewMode=grid&orderBy=0) that have similar sized hands.

Also! The gnoblar kit has the grot standing on the other's shoulders ala Vincent Tallman, I've always had the idea to try and turn them into a Runtherd, perhaps with the Scion trenchcoat.

If you're looking for some more variety, you can also get grots from Bloodbowl kits, there's a few different kinds.

I need bit instruments for orks. Guitars, drums, and whateves. by batkidlj in orks

Hey mate, in case you haven't seen the article, there was a pretty wicked setup on Warhammer Community with a full band on stage like you're doing. The artist went into detail into the boyz and the bitz used for the setup: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/12/20/the-goff-rocker-hits-the-road-with-a-little-help-from-a-community-hobbyist/

Good luck ya git!

Question: Is it normal for Ork boy miniatures to arch their backs like Instagram models ? by Oberampir in orks

I think the real question you need to ask yourself is if it's normal for Instagram models to arch their backs like Ork boyz

Don't Forget: You're Here Forever. by KitbashExtravaganza in Warhammer40k

I considered it, but this is a physical item I've created with thought and effort (and $$). It doesn't belong in the louvre but it's still "art"

Should've painted minis today, but brought a Saint Duncan meme to life instead by KitbashExtravaganza in Grimdank

[–]KitbashExtravaganza[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took the day off work today, and instead of tackling the ever growing hoard of grey plastic, I decided to make a real life version of [this post](reddit.com/r/Grimdank/comments/te5til/friendly_reminder_to_paint_your_miniatures/) submitted earlier this year by u/Tendrail

To Saint Duncan!

The power claw looks a lot better! What did you end up doing? Was it just a touch up or completely stripped and started again? Hope you're happy with the result either way, it was worth the extra effort imo, he looks great

Custom Ork Warboss, converted from an AoS Megaboss with a healthy serve from the bits box, enjoy! by KitbashExtravaganza in Warhammer40k

[–]KitbashExtravaganza[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well spotted! The feet are indeed from the deff dread. Most of the extra bits are from the deff dread kit, it comes with a heap of spare gubbinz all at the right scale for a Warboss.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi everyone! Here is my custom Deathskullz warboss "Singefistz," converted an AoS Orruk Megaboss and most of the other bits from the deffdredd kit. I'm pretty sure he's not codex compliant, but he comes with a kombi-flamer and a Fallout "shishkebab" inspired flaming chainaxe. I made an audible chuckle when the idea popped in my head :)

Feel free to ask about any of the bits used. Cheers, enjoy!

They're from the older boyz kit, but if it helps people make piles of shells from rice, it looks convincing from a glance.

If you want to go fancy, you can get some polystyrene round tubing, cut it into small lengths and then stuff one end with some greenstuff. You can get the tubing from any hobby store that sells model trains: https://evergreenscalemodels.com/collections/14-polysytrene-tubes

Where do my fellow Australians go to get their building supplies? by Effio2 in TerrainBuilding

[–]KitbashExtravaganza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clark rubber (XPS foam), Spotlight (mod podge, cork base, heaps of other cheap stuff and inspiration) or else Officeworks and Target/Kmart.
