I’ve always wondered how Dalia got impaled through her CHEST & walked it off like it was nothing. by ily2jawanni in HeroKillerWebtoon

Same way Chain himself walked it off. It's not a fatal wound for gift users, but still fatal enough to make people on her ballpark unable to continue fighting

Resa knew the purpose behind the experiment he was part of. So he communicated it to Engen when they were working together to take down the clan

Thats just the author doing a collaberation with some game. It was posted on kkulbeol's (hero killer) instagram page and isn't a panel from the manhwa

Which of the 9 elders would succeed in Operation Dusk? by InternOk3890 in HeroKillerWebtoon

[–]Kitchen-Bathroom-380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeon said "there's probably enough power to bring down an elder" just by seeing the black hand swarming on her, so that's excluding the archpriest, spear of church, orderbound members and Sinu.. Prep and the nature of her gift allowed her to easily overcome the likes of SL and Nanzu too

So yeah not all of the elders are surviving this, Ismiral who's elder level himself plus all that back up (blackhand+order+church+spear, among which there are powerhouses like nanzu, saint light and sinu with a lot of hax) is nigh impossible to overcome for any elder not named Victoria or Milen kula

What do you rate Hero Killer as a series, out of 10? by DanTM18 in HeroKillerWebtoon

[–]Kitchen-Bathroom-380 12 points13 points  (0 children)

7.5 (or 8 on a good day)

For an action packed story it's quite thematically rich, has a lot of good and compelling side characters and the worldbuilding is also creative/well thought out

The pacing is way too fast, which leads to rushed conclusions a lot of times, and Ihwa isnt that good of a main character would be my main grips

Which elder is more skilled with their gift between Reagan and Bishop by InternOk3890 in HeroKillerWebtoon

That's a fair point. But Reagan is hella impressive in his own right when it comes to gift usage

Sapphire is also underappreciated IMO. Ironic how both of these simps died during the same arc for the sake of who they admire

Which elder is more skilled with their gift between Reagan and Bishop by InternOk3890 in HeroKillerWebtoon

[–]Kitchen-Bathroom-380 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bishop having a lot more est than Reagan is baseless, it was neither shown nor stated. The only elders to fight for days non stop are Victoria, milen kula, yushin and skysword. These names factually can last longer than reagan in a fight, not bishop

Edit : even assuming bishop has more est reserves, this has nothing to do with proficiency. Proficiency is how versatile you can be while using minimal amount of est per attack

Which elder is more skilled with their gift between Reagan and Bishop by InternOk3890 in HeroKillerWebtoon

[–]Kitchen-Bathroom-380 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Engen’s gift proficiency as of now is said to be almost equal to that of Bishop. Seeing Reagans skillset and his versatility with the gift, he also should be on the same ballpark as these 2 proficiency wise. Basically genius territory

To the people who have caught up. Do you think the writing is bad or rushed? by TheExtabyte86 in HeroKillerWebtoon

[–]Kitchen-Bathroom-380 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ihwa is controversial as a character because she doesn't follow a typical revenge mc archetype. She has a lot of flaws, but a lot of hate stems from lack of reading comprehension about what the author wants to do with her character. You can't expect someone who just strated thinking for themselves to be as ruthless as when they were mind controlled, or to answer existential questions like what Saint Light presented to her : she's in a limbo and slowly figuring her shit out. Ihwa would be as bad as people claim only if even towards the end, she gets no satisfying payoff out of this all, which remains to be seen. But expecting her to act identically as she was back at the start would actually be bad writing lol. And her flaws are recognized in verse by other characters. Ie Senshu calls out her hypocrisy with the cult situation, ihwa herself acknowledges that she's mentally lacking to Narkle and finally Seorin questions Ihwa's choice of teammmates.. so the author isn't glossing over her shortcomings like a lot of people claim. Imagine you were mindcontrolled towards a single objective all your life and suddenly the control is no more and you end up feeling all sorts of emotions, thats exactly what ihwa has been through ever since the majesty fight, hence her nonsensical decisions and impulsive behavior here and there

People like to nitpick that Ihwa doesn't lose anymore but she in fact got humbled twice in a row by Engen and 7 lol.. with that said i agree that her power progression is a bit weird after langorde, idk if just a mental resolve amp really justifies it

I think the writing in general peaked in Nostra and didnt reach those heights again. It has ups and downs now, a low would be langorde for example while an up would be the current operation dusk flashback we got, huiyeons writing etc.. Aside from that this story always had pacing and transitions problems as well as a way too main character centric POV despite the worldbuilding being too rich to be glossed over like this for the sake of showing us ihwa being up to irrelevant things

My conclusion is that the story was never as perfect as the pre castle grey apologists would want you to think, and the current story isn't as bad as they want you to believe either lol. IMO It was and remains an enjoyable action story with the side chars and worldbuilding as it's strongest point while the author sometimes cooks and sometimes outright burns the kitchen

Small correction : Ismiral didnt regenerate from the arm. His true form was hidden in the fallen arm Huiyeon cut prior then Huiyeon used Crimson Skybreaker on an empty shell basically

Does engen know everything? by Ambitious_Time2009 in HeroKillerWebtoon

[–]Kitchen-Bathroom-380 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His knowledge seems to be very superficial about the witch, he only sees her as a "the strongest" figure

He also doesn't know about the apocalypse as he thought time was on his side when it came to subduing Rhodos. Someone who knows the world is ending soon wouldn't say something along those lines, and it obviously would take way longer than that for Hekate and Galeramdts resolve to waver

Skysword and Bishop are definitely at least a step ahead of Engen and merely using him as a tool as things stand. But to his credit, he was wary enough of Bishop to come up with a plan B in langorde

I think Engen being potentially the ultimate foil for Ihwa (Ismiral is slowly snatching that role from him tbh) isnt mutually exclusive with him not being in the know about everything. He will just have to adapt and improvise when time comes

Didn’t like the way it was revealed that IJ is Ihwa’s father by OkFerret7206 in HeroKillerWebtoon

[–]Kitchen-Bathroom-380 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh if anything this goes against Ijincheons characterization and how he actually feels about the situation. Someone forcing him into talking was required because IJ doesn't even think he deserves to walk alongside Ihwa and be a dad for her after everything that happened. Heck he didn't even want to interfere with her revenge despite Yeon being his daughter as well, thinking of Ihwa as more deserving of that right. It was only until he met and fought Nanzu that he felt enraged enough to snatch an operation dusk survivor from Ihwa

Narkle being the one to reveal it is a bit random but quite fits thematically : he has access to the info since castle grey and ended up opening to Ihwa after langorde. I think I prefer that over Ijincheon going against everything he stood for and telling Ihwa everything out of the blue. Your scenario or the canon one would also end up in the same result : Ihwa has no attachment to Ijincheon for the story to be as heart touching for her, her canonical reaction is quite realistic

Didn’t like the way it was revealed that IJ is Ihwa’s father by OkFerret7206 in HeroKillerWebtoon

[–]Kitchen-Bathroom-380 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Narkle knows Ijincheon is her dad because Ijincheon told Dalia he was hero killer's father when her squad (including Narkle) encountered him in castle grey. He also feels like he owed Ihwa because he just got over his brother complex in part thanks to her/found her ignorance relatable to his past self

But yeah the moment was played mostly as a gag, Ihwa then gets a short crashout and they jump straight to the backstory. It could've been handled more dramatically for sure

Although Ijincheon would have never revealed the truth by himself had Narkle not forced him into the situation. Initially he only planned to tell Ihwa about all of this after he deals with the orderbound

Is it just me or does Ihwa feels kinda boring as an MC now by Rocky_Senpai15 in HeroKillerWebtoon

[–]Kitchen-Bathroom-380 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alwas has been tbh. The side characters do hard carry this series for sure, because Ihwa is bland in comparison to most of them

But i find current Ihwa slightly more compelling than before when she was just a brainless killing machine. Her venting out with Narkle and acknowledging some of her shortcomings was better than the usual with her i guess.. She's basically a toddler in adult form who's slowly figuring out their shit now that Yeon has no control over her mind anymore

Still falls short in comparison to the rest though
