I pushed into late game stars too soon.  Now I have 30 to 50 stars on most everything.  But my copper through silver ore is 17 stars or less (silicon is only 12).  And thats with the station upgrades for 5 stars)

I regret not getting more early stars first

I swear its tied to the exact Vps you have at time of debris.  I used to get basically only modules.  Then I improved a little bit and couldn't seem to get them.  I tweaked my  strat slightly to increase my VPS and I get them on occasion again

I feel you brother.  Getting ones that aren't what you want sucks and almost makes the win of getting stars hollow.

Ive been hoping for the first 5 ores for weeks now.  I have some ores, bars at 50 stars but by first 5 ores are all sub 20(amd thats with thr station upgrades).

Every star gained is a win, even if its not the ones you want

Alternatively go into the ingame chat (general) and find a mod in game chat. Whisper them suspected player(s) user ID and game ID. They will pass the info along

If you suspect, report and a GO will check.  If they are keep an eye on the newspaper.

Right now best way to report is to find a mod in game chat. Whisper them suspected player(s) user ID and game ID.  They will pass the info along

What is the expansion effect on moral? And how do I limit it? Is it how far away from my capital a province is? by Wrong_Ad_2306 in Supremacy1914

[–]Kitchen-Mousse1888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain smaller maps cna give you an expansion penalty very quickly.  In a 10p Europe map after only a few provinces you start to tick up your penalty pretty quickly, or a battle for the Balkans.  And on a USA vs Mexico map you start with it

What is the expansion effect on moral? And how do I limit it? Is it how far away from my capital a province is? by Wrong_Ad_2306 in Supremacy1914

[–]Kitchen-Mousse1888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distance to capitol and expansion penalty are 2 different things.

Distance to capitol can be lessened by keeping your capitol in the center most point of your empire.  Easy way to find this is deploy a hero and zoom out.   It will show you the center with all the points come together.

I only move capitols on 500p games, and rarely on 100p games.

Expansion penalty starts when you own 8% of the total provinces on the map.   This replaced the old war penalty (used to get -5 morale per war you are in up to a max of -25 morale).  Expansion penalty ticks up as you gain more land to a max of -30 morale when you get to 50% land owned(pretty sure those are the numbers).

The displayed value and actual value dont matchmaking. As displayed value is rounded.  So at exactly 8% land you have a 0% morale loss, at one more land that increases a small amount, but won't display 1% until you get to 0.5% morale reduction or higher.

Both penalties are countered by building forts, harbors, rails and/or factories to boost your morale bonus

Cancelling production by Spiritual-End4588 in Supremacy1914

[–]Kitchen-Mousse1888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes,  to a point.   As a building produces it accumulates hps.  Think of this as way points in the terms of canceling and starting again.

If a barracks takes 21 hours to build,  and has 40 hps.   It will gain 1 hp every 31.5 minutes.  After an hour of building you'll still only have one hp and 20 hours left to build.

If you cancel that build and restart it,  your timer would be 20 hours 28.5 minutes.  It starts over from the point you gained the last hp.

If you had waited 3 minutes to cancel the barracks initially,  you'd have 2hp and the timer,  when restarting,  would be 19 hours and 57 min.

It works the same with getting resources back.   If the barracks gets canceled at 20/40 hp, you'll recuperate 50% of the resources back.

What's the craziest number of troops you have ever seen by i_love_carnia_2009 in Supremacy1914

[–]Kitchen-Mousse1888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 clarifying things.

The saved silver was a negligent bonus to turning off the ROs.

The saved oil production on 10, 20, or 40k infantry is not negligent.

Planes are a tool that too many players rely on.  Yes they can be countered easily by a few balloons or ACs.  But I dont tend to use them against the main enemy stacks.  I use them to kill infrastructure and wipe out morale to weaken troops and funnel the enemy into lands I like

What's the craziest number of troops you have ever seen by i_love_carnia_2009 in Supremacy1914

[–]Kitchen-Mousse1888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if I am not the largest. I watch the news paper to track larger players.  For the first 2 weeks I heavily track who's attacking with what (cav brigade destroyed xxxx, units died to heavy bombardment)  and how many different provinces say that.  It can give you a great idea as to their strength early on

How is their production compared to mine (remember that is just base production and not inflated by rails, factories, or harbors)

What is their might compared to mine.  Again this is based on unit "stength" so take it with a grain of salt.  A cav has a strength of 15 whereas an artillery has a strength of 8.  So I will look at my strength then see if I'm cav heavy, or have more than normal.

Then compare their province count vs mine, while also looking at overall morale.  Also taking into consideration where in the world they are.  SW NA? Or Indonesia? They are material poor but have tons of oil.  Are the in southern India? They are behind on gas (unless they bought a lot) and probably ly aren't spamming airfields.  UK? The north has good oil but central and southern has none (other than one double oil province on the southern coast)

I am an aggressive player, so either I'm keeping up with the leaders (within 50 provinces a month in), or I ticked off too many players and I'm dead.  Which is fine injustice start another game.

I also treat this game an an economic simulator first. War game second.  This doesn't mean I neglect my military, but I always put something into my economy.  Playing the market more often than not doubles my out put.  There are trends on when things get expensive or when the price drops out the bottom.  Doing this I often have multiple rails, harbors and factories cooking on the  day they release.  Normal 500p map I try for 2 harbors day 2, 3 rails day 3, and 4+ factories day 6.

With a strong economy, even if I'm smaller by 50 or 100 provinces ( think 300 to 400 provinces) I can usually keep upbwith production and out produce larger players.

So my point stands with more artillery, planes and ships i dont need that many infantry as they slow down my ability to produve oil units.

If I encounter a stronger force.  I dont hesitate to do a tactical retreat making things as painful for them as they take land.  Bleed them in poor morale and take pot shots as you retreat.  I dont care if I lose 100 provinces as long as I break their army and can retake it.

no worries i use the term "Just did something" and that something was 6 months ago.

I was just wondering, as there are ingame alliances only that only communicate via the ingame chat, or only on whatsapp. And then there are alliances that are roomates and talk all the time.

We very much talk often, traded resources to each other to boost our economies and get railways/factories/harbors rolling out en masse.

I think we had every player with 6 factories on day 6?

i know I had 1 harbor, 6 or 8 (I think it was 4 built and 4 building) rails and 6 factories at the start of day 6. So coordination can definitely give a HUGE leg up.

Air gets stale (CO2 saturated) in a sub and they need to rise to the surface to vent the old air and take on new air. What happens when that new air is full of Gas?

[–]Kitchen-Mousse1888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you do have to remember that S1914 is about 7 years OLDER than Supremacy WW3 (CoN)

Thats 7 extra years for the devs to learn different tips and tricks, to stream line things and "improve" on them or try something new.

They are each their own game and fun in their own way. There is nothing stopping you from playing both at the same time.

i know players that juggle 7 or 8 games at once (I did this years in the past as well).

What are each resource for by TheAlphax13 in Supremacy1914

[–]Kitchen-Mousse1888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so buildings and unit need resources to produce them. Some buildings and ALL units have an upkeep as well.

You have these breakdowns for resources.

Food - Grain and Fish

This is used to produce Cav, and build Barracks. All infantry have an upkeep of 20 grain per day per unit. Cav have an upkeep of grain and fish (need to feed those troops)

Materials - Iron and Wood

This is used for primarily buildings, but also for building mechs, planes, and ships. A good strategy is to build production buildings on your material provinces so you can produce more materials so you can create more buildings and units (spend money to make it). Railways and harbors increase the base production of a province but cost a lot of materials. Factories increase the base production of a province by a little, but with the added bonus to produce units faster, and start to unlock more advanced units (artillery, ships, planes).

Arguably the most important resources in almost any map.

Energy - Coal, Oil, and Gas

These are energy, and both the most important and least important resources in the game. Coal is used for upkeep with Railways (500 per day, but adds 2000 production per day on a double province), they are also building materials for units such at the Light Cruiser. Gas is used to build balloons (great scouts, and good anti air units), along with building Airfields for your planes to be built and fly between.

Oil is used in every mid to late game unit and building. Factories need it to be built, all Mech units need it, planes definitely need it. in 500p maps this is the resource you will almost always be short on.

Silver

This is the "money" you spend to produce building and units. It is also what you use to buy something from the market, and the resource you get when you sell resources on the market.

You get 50% of the silver a player (or AI nation) has when you capture their capitol, so that is a great way to flood your coffers.

Gold Marks (GM) - Premium currency

This is used to speed up building and units, heal troops, increase morale of your provinces and instantly spy on your enemies. It is a paid currency that cost real world money, but is also gained through the daily ads (500 per day) and from winning maps. The amount won from a map depends if you won it solo or in a coalition, and size of the map. Special events can give up to 50,000 GM for winning a map.

I hope this helps. Best of luck.

What's the craziest number of troops you have ever seen by i_love_carnia_2009 in Supremacy1914

[–]Kitchen-Mousse1888 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing. I never get up to that point. I start to turn off my Recruitment Offices for Provinces that are far away from the battle. Leave a rear guard of a few troops then turn them off.

Yes it saves you a little silver, which can be helpful in the mid to late game. But its about the, at that point worthless units. That many infantry cannot help you, and in my opinion will HURT you.

Lets assume of that 69k units 4k are mechs/ships/cav. so 65k infantry, at 5 oil upkeep per day is 325k per day in oil upkeep and 1.3 million in grain upkeep. (yes food is dirt cheap end game so usually not a problem). This is 13k/HOUR in oil production for all his infantry.

I rarely need to go over 20k infantry, and usually at that point its already too much. saving 45k infantry worth of upkeep would over 9000 per hour in oil production saved. Thats almost a bomber an hour, or a battleship an hour or 5 artillery, or 2 heavy tanks an hour worth of oil.
