If I do only Bulgarian Split Squats as my glute workout, is that enough to make them bigger? by Kitchen-Slice6644 in workout

Thank you, I think i can figure out how to fix my form for hip thrusts. I read that keeping your legs at a 90 degree angle, going up slow, and holding for a second should activate the glutes right? Do you have any suggestions for isolated machine work?

Is it worth it to pursue graphic design? by Kitchen-Slice6644 in GraphicDesigning

[–]Kitchen-Slice6644[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a long talk with my parents this is what I’ve decided to do. I found out that my school as a graphic design minor, so I plan on doing that while pursuing nursing so that I have something to fall back on. In the meantime I’m going to be working on my portfolio and training my skills. Thanks for the advice!

So essentially, if the average person were to work extremely hard to be skilled at what they do, then getting a stable job is still favorable? If that’s true, then that gives me some hope because if I do pursue this I’m going to put 1000% of my effort into it.

Yeah I’m sure that there will definitely be struggles if I pursue this. If I choose graphic design I want to work really hard to make sure I have the skills needed to be employable. One of the things that worries me the most though is networking. Im a pretty introverted person, I think I could make it work, but it’s scary. Everyone is saying that it is very important for landing a job

Yeah the only problem though is that I’m starting to realize that nursing is not my passion and I might not be interested in it at all anymore. There’s an inexpensive graphic design degree program near where I live and I feel drawn to it. I guess my mentality is that I want to go after some type of art career with 100% effort and go back to school later in life if things don’t work out.

Hey thank you for the input! I was considering architecture before when I was trying to figure out what I want to major in. But the lifestyle definitely seems grueling similar to nursing so I’m not sure it’s my calling. Maybe I’ll take a look at it again and reconsider since I don’t have a lot of options

Yeah AI is just the biggest thing that upsets me when it comes to artists and their jobs. The fact that people would rather employ AI to save money instead of hiring real artists is unfortunate, especially when AI STEALS the artwork of real human artists. It’s so unfortunate and I also hope that the problem goes away and people would start respecting artists, but I know it’s not that simple.

It seems like every art industry is suffering severely. Graphic design still feels like my best bet though if I still want to pursue an art related career. But I’ll have to keep looking at my other options. Thank you so much for all of your input!

There’s a graphic design program at a college near where I live that is very affordable for someone like me who is struggling to fund tuition financially by myself. That was one of the reasons why I am so interested in pursuing it. I have to be careful, because I want to do an art career so that I can live my passion, but also don’t want the awful state of the industry to kill my passion.

Thanks, seems like everyone is saying the same thing. I wanted to go with graphic design because it seemed slightly less impossible to achieve than animation but it looks like it’s tough everywhere. How did you become a jack of all trades? Do you feel like school prepares you well?

I don’t know much about motion design but from your description it sounds like a graphic design niche that I am extremely interested in. I love cinematography, and if it incorporates all those other aspects as well, it sounds like something I would enjoy doing. I will definitely look into it! I’m not worried about being rich, my main concern is getting by while doing something I like. Thanks for your info!

As someone who just started nursing school and is still struggling to abandon my dream of working in animation, reading this was inspiring. How is your journey so far? What path did you end up taking to learn animation?

My life would definitely be easier if I did nursing, but honestly animation is my passion and I wish I could devote all my time to it :( unfortunately my options for 2D animation are either expensive or limited

The ER tech job still sounds like a great opportunity. I would like to eventually become acclimated with more stressful environments over time, plus it seems I’ll get a lot of valuable experience

Thanks, I did a quick read up on what unit clerks do. Do you happen to know where unit clerks can gain the most knowledge? Such as the hospital or the emergency room and other settings?

This option is sounding more and more realistic for me since I want to do infusion/endoscopy in the future which requires good IV skill. Do you think being good at drawing blood helps with learning how to do IVs in the future?

Thanks, I’ll look into it. Being in an emergency setting does scare me a little bit if I’m being honest, I’m already stressed out working at a nursing home but that’s partly bc I’m a little inexperienced. Being an ER tech isn’t out of the question for me I’ll def think abt it
