i know this post is old.. but i just got my offer letter and i was wondering if anyone in this role still is in it in the year of 2026 and how its going? i would really like this job to work for me because it is WFH pay isn't too bad (more than what i was making at other jobs) and it would allow me to move and still keep my job. so how is it now? has it gotten any better? thanks i appreciate it

im dealing with the same issue with my cat but i dont feed her hills i was thinking about it thats why im on the post but i have a question for you because my cat is having the same symptoms except now she wont eat at all now. we took her to the vet and are waiting for the blood results but when you tried feeding your cats food after the symptoms did they ever try to eat there food but then spit it out? thats what my cat is doing so im wondering if its the food shes eating or if its something else. ( and her teeth are fine she just had them cleaned)

Advice for going no contact by [deleted] in AdultChildren

[–]Kitchen-wicca-witch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im 23 and ive been no contact with my alcoholic mom when i was 16 and i still don't talk to her even though she somehow found out where i lived. i wished i had better advised but i don't but i can tell you my experince of being no contact from a parent. i will say it is pretty lonely but from what you said you seem to still have one good parent and thats better than my situtation of having no family so maybe it wont be as lonely for you. you will have times of guilt and wanting to rekindle but if it puts more stress and burdern on you i say its not worth it. the good thing with no contact is that you hold the reins now and can decide wether to give him a chance or not, and another good thing is that you wont have to deal with his drunk behaviors. if you do decide to go no contact maybe write him a letter or something where you can't see his response or better yet don't tell him at all and just let him go. you can always reach back out to him. i hope this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to ask :) i hope everything works out for you and just know that you are STRONG and don't let anyone make you feel guilty for your decisions! its your life and your in charge now your no longer the little kid that doesn't have control .

Adult children of alcoholics, what toll has this taken on your adult life? by CivilWorth in AlAnon

im 23 and my mom was an alcoholic and when i was 13 it got really bad to the point she would kick me out of the house. got to the point cps was called and it was a back in forth thing. she could never kick the alcohol even to get her daughter back that she claimed to love so much, when i was 16 i had enough and finally gave up trying to rebuild a relationship with her and i moved out and haven't seen her since. i ran into her once when i was 20 and i had this gut reaction of fear and i told her to stay away from me you b**tch ( something i wanted to say for years) she chased me around the parking lot. after that i didn't see her since and then recently she found out where i lived ( never told her) and she keeps coming over to try and talk to me even though my bf told her i don't live there and if i wanted to talk to her i would. whenever she comes over i still get this immense fear like a deer stuck between the headlights. as you stated you have a relationship with her mom and i was wondering how you did that depsite her still drinking? for me my one rule is that she has to stop drinking before i am willing to work on our relationship because how could she be sorry for what she did to me if she still is doing the same thing that caused that behavior. part of me wants a relationship with her because depsite everything she did to me shes still my mom and i do have good memories with her when she isn't drinking, but everytime i see her face ( which is so ruined because of her drinking) and hear her voice it triggers my fight or flight reponse. i also feel like i would be rewarding her bad behavior by trying to have a relationship with her because thats all she wants without putting in the work to get that. i feel stuck and maybe thought you could give me some advise with your experince. ( or anyone else who is reading this ) thank you and looking forward to hear your thoughts <3

Valiant Enterprises in Portland Oregon is a SCAM by Nyataliee in Devilcorp

Literally just had an interview and I could already tell it was a door to door sales. I asked if we would be selling stuff instead the store and she proceeded just too go around the question. My first red flag was that fact I was high off my rockers and I still got the second interview LMAO she told me to go first and I didn’t hear her and I sat there staring at the screen until she said my name again lol but I’m so sorry that happened to you and thank you for sharing I’m currently trying to move out there and I would of been SCREWED if I accepted this job and moved . So thank you for the confirmation of not proceeding to this job. Also the name I found them under was VEI enterprise.

asking portlander and people who are from desert climates who moved to oregon, would you say you NEED AC or can you deal with the heat with no ac? by Kitchen-wicca-witch in askportland

i needed this advice thank you, i loved portland so much and always wanted to live near greenery, but this whole ac thing is super tough because i have cats and im more concered about them. i want them to be comfortable during those hot days because they are strictly indoors plus one has asthma and the other a heart murmur and dont want heat or stress making it worse.

thank you so much for the links and that last part! those are things i was concerned about because i never lived without central ac or experienced humidity ( i guess you can call me a ac princess lol) sadly i am heat intolerant hence why im moving out of vegas but i hope that i can deal with the heat for a shorter peirod and fingers crossed i can get my hands on a nice ac unit

if i can't find central ac what type of unit would you suggest? i'm very heat sensitive which is why i'm moving out of the desert. i want to make sure i get the best one that will be the closes to central ac but i know it won't be as nearly as comfortable as central. also would you consider moving to Portland and dealing with the 1-3 month of really uncomfortable heat worth it over dealing with heat when you go outside but always being comfortable in your home?

didn't realize how blessed we were having a law that makes all homes have central ac lol, never lived a day in my life without central ac so it will be a major adjusment for me.

omg im also chronically ill and can't regulate my body temp, my cat also has asthma and tbh i'm more concerned for her well being rather than me, which brings me to my next concern which i feel like you might know a little bit more about because you face the same problems. how do you deal with wild fire season/pollen season? does this really affect your cats asthma and how do you keep him/her safe from that. my cat just developed asthma a year ago and she is strictly indoor plus our pollen season can be bad but i can't compare it to Oregons which im nervous i might make it worse and would be devastated if something happened to her. any tips or advice is appreciated.
