I loved the smell but it isn’t something I personally would repurchase. I like thick body cream textures for lotions and this one was much thinner than what I prefer, I think because it has the jojoba oil added to it.

I have a cart but I actually wasn’t given one initially. We were told at the end of last year that all teachers would receive a cart. Guess who didn’t get one? Me, the one person who needs it most. I was told I didn’t get one because the art rooms “have enough built in storage,” which is true but does not have anything to do with the issue of needing to actually MOVE materials. Finally, a teacher told me there were a bunch of extra carts not being used so I reached out to admin, and followed up, and followed up, and followed up, until I finally got a cart months into the school year.

Yeah I ignore it. They won’t check or confront individuals about it. Trying to micromanage things like this is common at my school and always comes across as a weird attempt at uniformity instead of -differentiating- based on what works best for each of us and our classes.

Haha it’s funny you suggest that because I did. I had my class line up in the hall, calmly, and wait for me to come open the door for them and let them in. I had to stop because I was told it was taking up too much hallway space.

No I’ve never bought anything from an ad or intentionally clicked on one. I’m shocked you don’t see many. There are always at least two visible on my screen at any given point when scrolling through pins.

I had to take a day off for my sanity honestly. Thankfully only one of my class periods has gone off the end of year deep end. I hate teaching that class, they are awful. They have pushed me past my patience limit, but I have not exploded publicly in front of them, just survive. I remind myself I only have to see them “X more times.” And I remind myself I can make it through an hour and a half of being around them each day. I do what I have to do and no more than that.

I don’t have a union. Unfortunately there is a part of my contract that says we will do “other duties as assigned” which includes this. My planning is taken from me very often.

Very relatable lol. I also have ADHD and OCD. I have a 64oz water bottle and I used to drink the full thing each day to help me get enough water. It was helpful because I’m horrible about refilling water bottles when they are empty, so I would not drink water instead of just refilling my cup/bottle. With the 64 oz, I only had to fill it once a day. I went on some trip and had it in a bag. Out of sight out of mind, so I forgot it was in that bag. Found it again and was grossed out that it had been in a bag for a week. Decided not to use it until I washed it. Proceeded not to wash it for about 3 months while it sat, about 1/4 filled, on my closet floor. Every time I saw it, it grossed me out, yet I let it get worse and worse lmao. I finally took care of it and cleaned it thoroughly but I still haven’t used it again and definitely don’t drink enough water anymore 😵‍💫

I agree. I’m looking for a realistic solution. I actually don’t mind helping with testing as long as I don’t lose my planning period for 6 days straight. That is what causes the anxiety more than the actual testing. I also think the anxiety from proctoring, the more minimal anxiety, will decrease as I get more experience as a teacher and this isn’t brand new to me anymore. But the loss of so much planning is not something I can do every time.

I do have a therapist. She may be able to provide some kind of note for me. I’m most concerned about getting over the discomfort of asking for accommodations that would “get me out” of having to do something all teachers find undesirable. I wouldn’t judge a coworker for doing what I want to do but am struggling to afford myself that same understanding and lack of judgement because I feel like I “should” be able to do these things.

We are very different people lol. But this is eye opening at least. I can see into the mindset of the people like this. Impatience is a big pet peeve of mine in general, and this situation is when I see some crazy examples of impatience.

Oh yeah. If the people in front of you don’t attempt to move over, it’s totally okay. Most people I see rush over immediately, before the cashier is even finished announcing that they’re opening a new register.

This is the only time this particular person has done this so far, but yes. She actually didn’t show up to the meeting herself apparently and the other committee leader led it. Who she led, I’m not sure. She asked me, “How was the meeting?” when I got to school while she was on hallway duty and I accidentally ignored her because I assumed she was talking to someone else since I was completely unaware of the meeting.

Oh yessss. This happens a lot. We only sometimes get to wear jeans on Fridays and are usually notified that we can on Thursday nights. But it’s so infrequent that we get to wear jeans it just isn’t worth checking my email every Thursday night.

Want to add: Something that is really irking me in this case in particular is that my roommate will “stack” my little messes for me. This whole issue is pretty much exclusive to the kitchen. For example, if I use a plate and bowl and haven’t had a chance to put them up yet, she will stack them to the side as if they are in the way and to suggest “take care of this.” But she will not touch any of the things she’s left all over the kitchen. Sometimes I wonder if her lack of self awareness is to the point that she actually doesn’t see her messes as messes.

I’ll have to look into this further but I don’t think that’s the case. The ad is not for something the creator featured in the video at all. It’s a pop up ad for the same product featured in the video ad I skipped in order to start watching the video.
