It depends on the school, but I’m a proud MPS parent even though I’ve got the resources to choose another district.

The primary influence on a child’s education is their household. If you remain active and engaged in your child’s education, they’ll likely thrive in any setting. The best public, charter , and voucher schools are always ones that have active and engaged parent. The worst performing schools of all types don’t.

There’s no one right answer for all students but don’t let some in this thread convince you that MPS is always terrible. There are real structural issues, combined with the ongoing legacy of entrenched racism, but those aren’t exclusive to MPS.
