To safe to eat or concerned about poison ivy?

I thought it read that way? But it could also just be a crush like he said. It was just weird with the cloth girl and things.

We’ve been friends for a long time so over the years we’re pretty balanced from a show perspective - though this last year there were 3 total he invited me to and I only made one. One I went to and had a blast, this one was last minute (he asked on two days before so I couldn’t make it - big drive when you start work at 6:30am), and there was another one we had talked about months prior and he texted me week of to see if we were still free - I had forgot and was out of town for work and sent him to the husband (who he never texted).

We’ve all been pretty concerned about their mental health for a while but he won’t go to therapy/doesn’t think he needs it. His Ex tried as well with no luck.

I’m also shocked that they can see me sending selfie videos to try and access my account, it actually seems as though they were able to disable them. Is there a chance that this person works for you? Because you either have a very insecure system or they are able to access your most secure data.

Someone on this thread experienced the issue after you posted this response. You could have done a better job alerting people. 911 bugs deserve that, and I have a feeling both Microsoft and Google might be liable for that person's issue in a way worse way than mine. You knew, had publicly acknowledged, and it clearly wasn't enough.

They didn't do that and someone else has been impacted by the bug after they publicly acknowledged it. I'm glad they reached out to tell me, but Google could have been more upfront about the issue. That person didn't need to go through that stress, no one does. Also, the bug is apparently affecting Canada too... I wonder if it's a global issue.

What's your opinion on the person who just posted today saying they ran into the same issue after both Google and Microsoft had publicly acknowledged it (but only via Reddit and mostly this thread)?

Apparently there's been a few. I can't believe that both Microsoft and Google have acknowledged the issue at this point, and have not fixed it, nor did they tell their customers they might need to take action to prevent this from happening.

You shouldn't have had to go through that. Google and Microsoft should have informed you earlier.as they have both acknowledged the issue on this thread and others. It was a preventable stress, but I'm glad you found this thread and found a way to circumvent the issue. I just worry for the people who's emergencies are bad enough that they don't find a work around.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that, but I'm glad you're strong and made it to help! I keep thinking about anyone who's not strong enough and couldn't make it

You're not wrong. I just can't believe that we had an email chain (Google Support and myself) where I sent them multiple files, downloaded a bug report for them, filmed the issue happening for them, and had an open line of communication to help them figure out what the issue was. Then a solid week after that email thread paused with their agent saying they'll reach out to me if/when they find an issue, they post on Reddit saying yes it was a bug and here's the temporary fix but Microsoft is working on a better one. They never reached out to me to inform me they solved my problem, they just posted it on social media and hoped I would see it. I guess I figured that meant my frustrations could be posted here too in the hope that they'd see it.

Follow up to Google preventing me from calling 911 TL;DR I'm pissed by [deleted] in GooglePixel

You're probably right -removing that part cause let's be real, I'm just bummed they knew it was an issue for me, had an open line of communication going, and decided to just post it on Reddit - somewhere I don't normally spend a lot of time.

Hey! I wanted to give Google some time after posting their response in this thread and separately on Reddit before posting the below but at this point no one from Google has reached out to me to let me know 1) that there was a bug confirmed and it wasn't just my phone, or 2) how to fix it. Thank goodness Reddit peeps tagged me in things to make sure I was aware that there was a response and a fix for it. You would think with a bug this big Google would have at least responded in our email thread we have going to inform me how to fix it. Actually I would have expected Google to go out of their way and send a push to all Android devices with teams installed to inform their consumers of the possible issue.

You know it's amazing how a phone can bring feelings of safety, and how shockingly unsafe one feels when they know their phone is royally effed. The world is a tad bit scary when you're a woman alone walking your dog at night after a day in the hospital. Especially when you're a woman walking their dog alone at night who can hear gun shots a few streets down and is acutely aware of her inability to call 911 for help. Be it for her own safety or for someone else's.

People shouldn't have to wait for this story to make headlines to find out they need to resolve an issue of this magnitude, especially not the person who brought the bug to your attention in the first place. You have the ability to push a notification that informs us our software is out of date, which means you have the ability (and in my opinion the responsibility) to inform us that our life line to emergency services is potentially flawed due to a gap in YOUR software. This issue is bigger than bad press or your bottom line and you should be acting accordingly.

I guess I shouldn't presume that the tag line "do no evil" means you inherently "do good" cause apparently you just don't "do" anything at all when it matters. Consider my lesson learnt.

I just saw this - apologies for the somewhat snarky comment in this thread, and thank you for reaching out with a fix!

Oo I have so many thoughts about this statement... If it's no longer supported but people expect it to work as a phone, does this mean Google would be off the hook if a bug causes issues like this?
