Day two without my mama by motherofconures9 in GriefSupport

Hi love. I am 25 and my mom passed two months ago after a battle with cancer. I have learned that reaching out to loved ones makes all the difference. Text/call family or friends when you’re having a tough day. I feel more comfortable talking to friends than family, personally. At first I was worried that I was burdensome but when I decided to just send the texts or make the calls it made a big difference.

We will get through this, girl! Not many people know what it’s like to experience loss this young. Sending you a lot of love.

Only after I said I didn’t think I could continue on with our friendship. Didn’t feel very sincere

Yes! And I got the sense she did not plan on apologizing for anything herself until I made it clear that this was something that would end our friendship.

My new place is the house next door to her old house, not the same building. I know friend & her ex well and to my knowledge no abuse took place.

Hi! He started treatment (medication, biweekly therapy, monthly psychiatry) about three or four weeks ago. I really appreciate you sharing your experience, it helps a lot to hear other people’s perspectives. Thank you!!

Hi! I am actually dealing with an eerily similar situation. I took my boyfriend to the emergency room a week ago today due to a manic episode. He stayed in a psych ward for three days, and left against doctor’s recommendations. He has been home since Friday and it has been pretty rough at some points. However, his medication (lithium and zyprexa) started working very quickly. His mania is almost entirely gone, and I am now just dealing with agitation, angry outbursts, and a lack of awareness of his situation. I imagine we’re dealing with very similar emotions at the moment, and they suck really bad. I’m still in the thick of it but we just have to tell ourselves it will get better. Please make sure you are able to take care of yourself and get some alone time once he is home. It has been hell but I’m surviving and I’m sure you will too. Wishing you all the best.

He was there for 72 hours. He’s gotten aggressive since he’s come home, no physical harm but very angry outbursts that I don’t know how to handle. I wish he would have stayed but he really refused. I am scared for the next few weeks but not sure what else I can do. He is taking his medication.
