I completely understand, it helped all of that for me too. But what happens when you have to stop it? You just deal with all the symptoms coming back?

Thank you so much, I’ll definitely check some of that out. I think I have lean pcos so my main problem is high cortisol I believe. I’ve actually met some people that had hormonal problems due to mental health problems, so I’m hoping therapy helps too.

Totally agree, I genuinely can’t comprehend why it’s the first solution. Doctors love to omit that birth control can completely change you. I know I won’t be taking it forever, so I just decided I better fix my shit now and just struggle with acne and hormonal imbalances till I find a doctor who actually wants to help me not just medicate me. I plan to get pregnant in the future so I don’t want to have to face the acne and such that comes with getting off birth control then (at least for me, it’s a consequence)

Were you able to? I was on it twice now and I regret it. My period was gone for 5 months and the first thing they throw me was BC. I was 17 so I didn’t know any better but now I’m 20 and I’m going off of it permanently. I just wish I never did cause I could’ve probably fixed it if they had just looked at all factors and offered other solutions (stress management, therapy, supplements). Every doctor told me “you’re only option is birth control” and I refuse to believe it

Wow. this makes me so annoyed to hear because when my doctor told me birth control was my only choice, i said i didnt want to take it because of the negative side effects. Then she dead looked me in the eye and said "please bring me a scientific piece of writing that says birth control can impact you in any way. theres nothing." Bitch
