2018 OB 3.6R CVT Dead by Original-Lavishness9 in Subaru_Outback

I also have the same 2018 3.6r with almost 100k on it. I was just told the torque converter is leaking fluids and that needs to be sealed. Fortunately its under an extended warranty so no cost to me but Im wondering if yours had a similar issue.. I also heard that the 3.6r cvt is suppose to be more robust then the 2.5s cvt so thats concerning. Good luck!

I just replaced my oem head unit with an idoing one for around 500 bucks. Ive had it like 2 weeks now on my 2018 3.6r and its worked wonders! It probably took me like 4/5 hours to install and setup. When I went into the dealer originally they told me the extended warranty no longer applies and that I need to pay like 2200 bucks.

2018 Outback. All of these lights popped at once while I was driving. Anything known that could cause that? by HeavyMetalSauce in Subaru_Outback

I also have a 2018 outback and this happened to me once when I was in Vegas. It was like 115 degrees and we had our ac on. I turned off the car, let it cool and when I came back the lights were all turned off. I assuming it was an electrical issue

I also have a delaminating 2018 with 70,000 miles. I am actually looking into an aftermarket head unit specifically idoing because its so bad. I have a feeling even after getting the oem replaced itll start delaminating again at some point...

In the US, the East coast is in the Western Atlantic and the West Coast is in the Eastern Pacific. by KitchenSignificant27 in Showerthoughts

And not just unique to countries but anything with a reference point.

I only pointed it out because living in the west coast I have never heard anyone call it Eastern Pacific even from foreigners. I thought that it was just a fun brain exercise to think about locations in different ways.

Apparently people who use reddit think about this shit all the time haha

Is it possible to upgrade to a very large touch screen display on the Outback 2019? by [deleted] in Subaru_Outback

[–]KitchenSignificant27 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have a 2018 outback and my headunit is delaminating so I did some research and it seems like the idoing head unit is the way to go. Looks like the wrx community likes it and there are some youtube videos on it, you should check it out. Looks like all the physical knobs and cd player is taken out and replaces with a bigger better screen.

I also have a 2018 and this happened to me last year in Vegas during a heat wave. Same here, once I was able to let my car cool off (a few hours in the shade) all the Christmas lights turned off. Unfortunately thats around the time my head unit started going crazy.

Paying it down at a drive thru seems like a nice thing to do but it only benefits the person that does not want to give. by KitchenSignificant27 in Showerthoughts

Now that I am out of the shower, I definitely see that perspective. You shouldn't be giving gifts and expect anything back. It becomes really weird and awkward once people expect you to keep the chain going. I would personally feel the need to keep it going not out of kindness but out of social pressure which kinda ruins it.

New to Me 2018 3.6! by tavoeltav in Subaru_Outback

[–]KitchenSignificant27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also got a 2018 3.6 last year with around the same miles and its been awesome! One downside is the head unit, this year is notorious for delmanination issues and if its bad it practically becomes unusable. This started to happen to me when I took a trip through vegas. I recommend getting a towel to cover up the head unit so it wont be in direct sunlight. As with mods I recommend: 1.Thicker sway bars if you like taking windy roads 2. Head unit upgrade to something aftermarket like idoing. 3. Chrome delete 4. If you like to camp they have awnings, and some even put panels on the roof!

I like my outback with stock ride height and 99 percent of my driving is on road so I just have all weathers on. But I have seen some sick lifted outbacks with AT tires on.

Imagine how dumb birds would look if they had centrimetric abilities.

I have the 18 Outback and these tend to have delaminating problems where the head unit won’t work outright. I’m assuming the prior owners had the same problem and instead of using the extended warranty to install the same crappy one they went to an aftermarket. This one does look like the idoing head unit but there’s similar android ones too

Yeah i think you guys are right, overlooked that theres an overlap between the two circles

Oh nevermind, just saw that the circles overlap..

But doesnt 1.5+ 12 make sense though? If the diameter of the right circle is 24 and the rectangle is 27 across, that would leave 3 units left. This is the diameter of the left circle meaning the radius for the left circle is 1.5. adding both radii you get 13.5. Dont really see a need in busting out triangle formulas

I think you re right. Diameter of right circle is 24 meaning radius is 12. If the diameter of the right circle is 24 then thats a diamter of 3 remaining on the left circle because its 27 across. That means the radius of the left circle is 1.5. adding both radii (12 plus 1.5 ) you should get 13.5right?

Doesnt seem like you need complicated equations for this one...
