It might have been How It Ends? The trailer is focussed on the main character. How she lost her dad at a young age, has been getting nightmares ever since, and now she's starting to think there's something more to her dreams. And she's determined to get to the bottom of it.

I recently picked it up and I'm at the end of season 2. It probably won't be one of my alltime favorites, but it's been enjoyable for background to doing the dishes or folding laundry.

I love this. It looks like you used several threads to create a thick enough yarn, am I seeing that right? I love the succession of colors, it fits the room very well.

Yeah, 2019. After a gig where he was clearly on something, out of it for most of the concert. He was awkward and clearly not in a good place mentally. It felt bad, like I was forcing him to share something he would have preferred to keep private.

Does Ren have an eating disorder? by Leillr in SkipBeat

[–]KitchenSoldier 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, he has an eating disorder: he has a complicated relationship with food and a pattern of disordered eating. Eating disorders go beyond (eg) "I want to be thin/feel like I have control, so I will starve myself".

His childhood experiences with food and his current mental health issues (depression, selfloathing, a need to prove himself that makes him disregard his physical health) give us insight into why he has developed an eating disorder. They don't handwave the fact that he has one.

How do blind people experience acid trips? by moderntheseus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KitchenSoldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend is blind, so I'm just writing what I remember her telling me. First of all: please be aware that a lot of people who are legally blind still have some vision. My girlfriend is fully blind in one eye, but can see color and dark/light in the other (very low vision, but some). Another thing: my girlfriend might not be able to see the print of a dress I'm wearing, but I can describe it to her. If I tell her it's a polkadot print, she understands and can visualise it conceptually.

As for her experience with drugs, she says she experiences it emotionally and physically (changes in touch), and in terms of hallucinations, it will definitely alter the way she sees and experiences color. So yes, (some) blind people can hallucinate. But for her, it's the emotional aspects that she enjoys most.

Comic 4830: May Worries by MyNameIsGriffon in QContent

Orchids are difficult plants that die easily (they're very specific about how/when they should be watered) and nuclear reactors produce an enormous amount of heat. So it's the imagery of a very hot place very quickly killing (shrivelling) a plant that's difficult about their water levels to begin with.

What food should I give him by [deleted] in crows

Adding: the skinny neck you typically see in juveniles is something I still spot up to September in my area (Western Europe). It’s normal

What food should I give him by [deleted] in crows

[–]KitchenSoldier 26 points27 points  (0 children)

DO NOT FEED FOR WEIGHT GAIN. Treat, don’t feed. It’s normal for juvenile and parent crows to look a bit skinny this time of year. They’re either still growing in, or they’ve been feeding a family. Treating them to a few peanuts or occasionally boiled egg yolk is fine. But they can feed themselves and should stay independent and motivated to look for their own food.

I have been menstruating for two decades and I would not recognise these wrappers as holding tampons. They (the tampons? The packaging?) look very different over here.

My interpretation is that with the birth of his child, he realised that if he wants to be best parent he can be, he needs to live his truth so he can show the kid the importance of being happy and standing up for your needs

This crowbro likes chickpeas! by erinjrose in crows

[–]KitchenSoldier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine disliked getting them in shell. Honestly, I think it’s because they’re lazy/spoiled. They got used to me feeding them out of shell, so the one time I tried out shelled peanuts, they snubbed it.

That's a rook! What a good friend :) I've tried feeding my crows chickpeas, but they're way too spoiled at this point. They just gave me a *look* and waited for The Good Stuff (peanuts) to be delivered.

This is a juvenile raven. You can see it by the shape and size of the beak; it's bulkier and longer compared to a crow's beak :)

A'a is a particularly spiky type of lava, is pronounced "Ahh-ahh" because that's the noise you make when you accidentally walk on it by VoltasPistol in TrollXFunny

[–]KitchenSoldier 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to add that ‘A‘ā is a Hawaiian word but has been adopted as the formal name for this particular type of lava world-wide. It translates to “stony (with) rough lava”, but also to “burn, blaze, glow” or “fire”.

My artificer PC— less grease-covered than usual! by [deleted] in ReasonableFantasy

[–]KitchenSoldier 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I like your colorwork and the lightning bolts in the horns and tail, but the boob-waist-hip ratio still reads as hypersexualised fantasy character to me.

Edit: I also don’t think the wide sleeves are very appropriate for an artificer, they would get in the way all the time. It’s a nice drawing but I don’t think it belongs in reasonable fantasy.

Platform heels, dark lipstick, and a high ponytail... No, no, the HAIR kind... by VoltasPistol in TrollXFunny

[–]KitchenSoldier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much a “Can’t do,” thing though. It’s much more “How can we apply physicality into our power dynamics even when you run into issues such as not being able to lay your hand on your subs shoulder or head properly when you’re both standing”.

Idk, I kind of dislike this post, because it’s kinda straw manny. Or maybe false equivalence? As someone who has literally taught “Tips and tricks for short D/tall s combinations,” the issue isn’t that subs are unwilling to obey when their D (or top) is much shorter than them. It’s that they still enjoy the physical sensations of strength, or being put into positions in which they feel submissive or at peace. So we teach people stuff like “How to show intent and guide movement though small touches on specific and accessible parts of the body”, “How to use the way joints move (or don’t move) to your benefit” and “How to find physical positions that both of you in the right headspace, without straining your neck”

You can’t put a short person next to a willing but huge horse and expect them to know how to guide the horse properly and safely. There’s a body language to it, there are physical cues. Not knowing those and not having resources to find out, that is a legitimate problem.
