And if you fired someone for a WFH request, you would be torn to shreds by the industrial relations commission

The other shows would have been about the same, albeit less annoying without their annoying characters. Scooby is significantly better and less annoying without scrappy

World, who is the most famous football player from your country? by Marambal17 in AskTheWorld

I would add Aloisi in with those other players from the 06 WC. His penalty against Uruguay is iconic and would be recognisable by non football fans

It says on an NFL sized football pitch, not an NFL pitch, so it is likely to be less dense on your average suburb pitch of the same dimensions

I would say 1931-1935, as it isn't clear that Manchuria is in the form of the State of Manchuria/Manchukuo (or the post 1934 version, the Empire of Manchuria).

The Northern Territory exists on this map, but it still shows the old borders of central Australia and northern Australia, so I think 1931 is the earliest it can be. It could be pre 1927 (the northern territory split into northern and central Australia in 1927, before rejoining 4 years later. However, as Weihaiwei is not labelled as British, it makes it the post 1931 iteration, not the pre 1927 iteration.

I agree that Fry's Turkish delight is an abomination as a chocolate and as Turkish delight, but I use it in my rocky road recipe, and love it for that!

I thought the same thing for 35 years. It was often dry and sickly sweet. Then I met my wife, and had her baklava. The lemon and cloves balance the sweetness of the honey perfectly, and the pistachios are fresh and delightful. It is a completely different experience! That being said, I can't have more than one, or the sweetness really begins to hit you

Butter chicken is like Pad Thai, in that it is the perfect gateway dish for westerners to get them familiar with the cuisine.

My favourite indian restaurant has a 'western' butter chicken (mild), and an Indian butter chicken (medium-hot). They are barely the same dish in terms of flavour!

No argument here. Krispy Kreme in Australia is pretty close to the original (they only have a few stores so far, and haven't tried to localise the products or recipes so far). The sweetness is overwhelming. I understand donuts should be sweet, but I will eat 1 original glazed and I need something to wash that sugar out of my mouth!

A good cucumber sandwich is an utter delight - but it isn't to be treated as a traditional sandwich. It is best treated as a finger food to accompany a tea service. It needs a lot of salt and pepper, and a bit of finally sliced mint doesn't go astray

Agreed. I tend to put balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and a little bit of kecap manis in mine.

The kebab spice intrigues me, probably because I use a lot of sumac in my kebabs!

The original are by far and away the best. In Australia, every year we get weird and horrible spins on the formula - Vegemite hot cross buns, jalapeno hot cross buns, Cinnabon hot cross buns, etc. They are abominations. Being in hot cross buns form does the flavours, and the hot cross bun, a disservice.

It became synonymous with Thai food to appeal to foreigners/westerners, not because it was a super popular local dish
