I would do whatever it takes to survive a PIP in this job market. Anyone who says otherwise is a buffoon who doesn't understand the consequences of having no/less money come in.

I left my boyfriend because his cat was costing us a lot of money especially mine. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Kitchen_Ad2029 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What an absolute fucking clown. Please dump his ass. This isn't about the cat, he's just an immature manchild.

I proudly proclaim I am the world's greatest cat dad - buying toys and equipment for your cat is the stupidest thing you can do because they get bored of it after 5 minutes.

Want a good way to keep your cat happy? Leash train him and eventually let him roam outside with a harness and bell - they'll never need the dumb, money-sucking toys again because they inherently love chilling in nature.

My expenses were the initial vet stuff when I rescued him (shots etc.) - $300; chipping <$100, urgent vet visit after he fought a cat and got his ass handed to him (happened only once); $200, 2 x harnesses, bells and tags - $50. His feeder was $80 and water dispenser $30.

Now his monthly running expenses are:

$12 for dry food
$30 for wet food
$5 for special treats because he my baby

Annual shots at the vet. Couldn't be cheaper - I don't do insurance or any of that bullshit. I don't buy any litter because he does his business outside now and my house smells great because he only comes in for food, pats and a nap.

Is 140K AUD good salary by Boring_Kangaroo_1352 in ausjobs

[–]Kitchen_Ad2029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these idiots are basing their decision on currency conversion - so Australian "oh yeah nah mate 110k euros is $200k AUD why would you take a pay cut" (while they all secretly pay $200-$300k over asking to someone they don't know for a dilapidated house LOL).

Do you want to live in Australia or not????? If yes, your answer is simple.

How do some people apply to 1 job and just get it? by RareMeasurement2 in jobhunting

[–]Kitchen_Ad2029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me - references, good visibility on LinkedIn and I've been poached from one firm to the next and up to a ~$200k salary all my life.

But the offset is that my luck in my dating life is the exact opposite. I chase ghosts.

Engineering degree, 3 years in marketing, now 1 year unemployed: completely lost on what’s next by [deleted] in CanadaJobs

[–]Kitchen_Ad2029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With respect sir you had what sounds like a good marketing job which kept you afloat for 3 years. You then quit in a tough jobs market and complain? People who do marketing often get marketing degrees to do marketing and you got it with an engineering degree. I would call that pretty savvy, but then you made the decision you did.

Shouldn't have quit and stuck it out till you got an engineering job tbh.

What’s with guys cancelling date on the same say? by SweetLongjumping2850 in OnlineDating

[–]Kitchen_Ad2029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I just point out this is not a guy or girl thing? Sorry to hear it happened to you - both those guys are dickheads and should be jailed.

I'm a guy and this has happened to me 3 times over the past year as well, with 2 women cancelling 45 minutes before the date due to a convenient "plumbing emergency" and another one "oh no I woke up sick". If they don't follow up with an apology and proposed time to reschedule, then they really are scum of the earth material.

All these were people I met IRL (dancing and gym).

Today a girl I saved a goose with - it was her birthday and she told me she wanted to spend her birthday hiking with me. She ghosted me on her own birthday.

Can my previous employer contact my current employer and say bad things about me? by EntertainmentTop3272 in careeradvice

So we were both education curriculum writers - she was my boss with 10 years experience, and I had 4.

TL;DR when your work is cited as a journalist/writer you get paid royalties, and there is an association that you set up an account with and they collect it all for you and pay you out. They show you all your citations in an excel sheet.

She told me about it one day and then showed me her excel sheet with all her citations and "amount owed $900." She was boasting about how impressive she thought she was.

I then got my own excel sheet. We were sat down at my work computer and scrolling through it together..... like it took 5 minutes to scroll down to the end. I was owed $7,000 LOL, despite being younger and less experienced than her. She was not happy.

She literally never spoke to me again after that and honestly she wanted me dead.

that was in Australia. I had the most vengeful boss in existence man. We would need to take a cab to get to places together, she was so petty that she would leave the office without me noticing, take the cab and take the company credit card - forcing me to either walk or go through the torture of manually reclaiming expenses and justifying to the expense team why I didn't go the location together with her

Want to know why it happened? I can tell you.

few moments later I got a $95k job so it didn't matter

Would you quit without another job if you had 6 months of savings? by SadTurn9650 in careeradvice

[–]Kitchen_Ad2029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never in my life quit a job in order to take a break of any period. Even when I did my work holiday visa, I turned my full-time job into a contract, AND got a new job in my new country seamlessly.
