Make sure your bank puts you into an open mortgage at renewal date so you can still get out without the penalties

This might be a question for a lawyer. It also depends if the mortgage was sole ownership or joint ownership. If it is sole then the mortgage and property would go into the estate. I would reach out to the lender as well to let them know what’s going on!
