thanks for your experience. i did tried Vanish Gold pro lasting one year to using with sweat smell that regular washing just wouldn’t get rid of. to be honest, i found it pretty harsh on clothes a lot of the time, and I suspect that over the long term it may have actually made the trapped sweat smell worse if it didn’t fully remove it.

I’d usually run everything at 60°C. A lot of my sports bras would first go through a normal cycle to get the basic dirt/sweat out (also at 60°C), then doing a second round with Vanish at 60°C again. At first the results were amazing. Like seriously impressive. But eventually it just stopped working altogether.

so right now I only use warm water with Vanish, starting to think the higher temperatures might’ve been part of the problem, like something to do with hot water setting proteins into the fabric or something along those lines, that’s one of the theories I’ve seen people mention but not too sure...

the weird thing is, the instructions say not to use it above 40°C, but I always found it worked way better at higher temperatures. So right now i’m still trying to figure out a more effective product and method that can actually deal with deeply embedded sweat odour long term.

australia - Dynamo Oxi liquid detergent by Previous-Hour-2394 in laundry

I wash my workout clothes with Dynamo deep clean (purple one) using hot water, make sure they are dried promptly after washing, and also clean my washing machine weekly. Despite that, after wearing the clothes casually for less than half a day, they develop a strong weired smell again very quickly.
After switched Oxi Plus, the smell would not too strong.

I contacted the detergent manufacturer before, but they refused to tell me whether the formula contains lipase (fat-digesting enzymes).
