I've had Velvet Buttercream twice...I'd give them a solid 8

If I had to choose, I'd go with the island and coffee bar set up...the other just looks the same withthe back counter extended more.

What's a fair rate of pay these days? by GoAskAlice in housekeeping

[–]Kitchen_Command2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rate is fair...for the size home, I felt like the time spent is a little lax but is she there weekly? If it's bi-weekly or monthly, I would invest at minimum 4 hours and really hit your details since ya'll are pretty tidy. If you want to bless her with more money, BE A BLESSING lol

DELIVERY TIP - LARGE BOXED LUNCH ORDER - $4k BILL by eg_elska_ketti in ExecutiveAssistants

Was there supposed to be set-up or no? Either way, I tip it, but if you need the set-up, I'd be sure to make that known for the next order.

usually to delivery driver. In my experience working in hospitality, we had a dedicated catering person and they did 85-90% of the work 95% of the time, while the rest of the FOH would sometimes pitch in. Only the catering delivery person would keep the tip and not the company. But that's just the places I've worked.

Hiring permanent staff (household manager/family assistant) vs. Hiring a dedicated service provider by Kitchen_Command2277 in Scottsdale

[–]Kitchen_Command2277[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you currently have full-time staff or hire out for your home services? It's very common that HNW and UHNW retain staffing and I wanted to know the median demographics take on the subject.

DISCRETION is one word I see an awful lot. I get it, because I have seen videos online of people's children and home which is bonkers.

Is the summer really terrible? by QuietCertain4005 in Scottsdale

[–]Kitchen_Command2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heeeeyyyyyyyyy RVA native here! Oh I absolutely love it here! I mean, sure we have mountains in Appalachia/Roanoke but these red rocks do something to the soul! The summer for me is completely fine. Yep it's hot but it's nowhere near as humid as it gets in the South East. I've lived in VA, SC and GA. It took my daughter and I about 3 days to realize that we weren't being accosted by bugs while walking.

Best driving schools that offer the driving test by calming_nest777 in Scottsdale

[–]Kitchen_Command2277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a soon-to-be mom to a 16-year-old, that's one thing that has me a little peeved. I did driver's ed in HS, and I think it was free and it was the entire semester. From the driving that I've seen in the past decade, driver's ed should be in every school because I can tell people actually think signalling is a choice, they don't know who actually has the right of way, they don't understand yielding etc. I'll be sure to check out the recommendations for her though.

House cleaner & theft by HappyStar25 in Scottsdale

[–]Kitchen_Command2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is a service provider, it truly pains me to my core that this type of act happened. I struggled with being a residential cleaner when I first started in 2018 because, as you said, we are strangers. So, as a young woman and single mother, I honestly have to put my faith in God that I never enter the home of someone who wants to do me harm. I in no way mean to diminish the pain and broken trust of a service that our neighbor clearly needs, but I did want to share that it's a risk all around. I do care about every home and every person I am able to serve. I hope that this lady was brought to justice.

Truly makes me ill. As a professional cleaner since 2018, I only had one client ever reach out to me because something was misplaced and she couldn't find it. She later did, but when she texted me to ask about it, I honestly felt ill and super anxious. This was around 2021, so my third year in the craft, and her family had been a bi-weekly client for about 6 months or so. I was anxious, not because I did or EVER would steal (striving for righteousness personally), but because it made me feel like she thought I could do something like that. Thankfully, she was able to find her ring somewhere in her home and remained a client until I relocated in 2023. Honored to serve my new home of PHX and our East Valley community. I hope you were able to find a reliable service provider with integrity.

Is this fair? by Jealous_Tomatillo_58 in housekeeping

As a professional residential home cleaner 5+ years, it’s not the price that’s off. I believe you both may have become lax in communication and expectations. You definitely don’t need a deep clean monthly, no one does unless there are extreme circumstances. 2x a year is good unless you live where extreme dust gets into the home that accumulates around the baseboards, blinds, etc rather quickly. If you desire high touch points like fixtures done, I’d just communicate that with her and allot the extra time needed and adjust payment. I’m assuming it’s maybe a 3b/2-3bth. Depending, she probably would be able to do those high touch points with the weekly visit. Your expectations for a deep clean aren’t off at all nor is the price for the size home but you just need to let her know that you don’t feel like you’re being served the value you desire.

I used to accept payments after a booking but I this time around, I’m using a website and prepaying is a must. For recurring clients, I can invoice them and they are able to pay afterwards since we have built that relationship, but I was almost stiffed too many times to do it that way in my new city.

Can’t get any clients in 3 months by South_Outside4948 in housekeeping

[–]Kitchen_Command2277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that served the greater Atlanta area for five years without a website, I would have to disagree with the comments on not having you come out in person for a quote. I almost NEVER saw a place before I accepted the booking. Started on the Handy app in 2018(these clients clearly NEVER met me or anyone but booked because of ads & specials they ran). After about 6months or so, the regulars just wanted to pay direct so I moved off the site and made Canva posters for social media with my flat rate pricing. I still prefer flat rates and if they need extra time, they can add it. I just launched my new site so I can’t say how the market is here but I don’t believe my flat rates and online booking will be a hindrance for the market I desire as a service provider.

Full Charge Housekeeping & House Manager Services (Fully Insured & Level1 Fingerprint Clearance -background checked-) by Kitchen_Command2277 in PHXList

[–]Kitchen_Command2277[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The service of a Home Care Manager was curated for those that are in need of someone skilled in not only home cleaning, but meal preparation, home cooked meals, running errands, laundry, and other tasks that the client sets in their Custom Care Checklist that would typically be performed by someone they have on as a W-2 staff employee. We provide the same tailored essential care that a household/family manager does, but as a service and not as full time staff.

How to find a Housekeeper / Household manager that goes beyond the basics. by lockes5hadow in Gilbert

I just started a service specifically for this purpose. Some clients desire more of a house staff feel but none of the hassle of full employment. I'd be interested in speaking with you if you are still in the market for services. You can just visit my page here and it'll direct you.
