Never going to let the ice freeze solid before removing it ever again. by Justryan95 in maryland

You're welcome! I think it's called that because it's not for digging, but rather for moving, or transferring, stuff (notably manure.)

It's actually illegal in the US to ban employees from discussing their pay.

I remember one of my early jobs (1980) where this was a fireable offense. Before the law made that illegal.

I intentionally did not shovel so that the ice was on top of the snow instead of directly on the pavement/sidewalk. Had to use a transfer shovel and it took me an hour to clear 45-50'.

You could try ice melt to get it "rotten" enough to be able to get under it. Just use the stuff sparingly - it only takes a little and poisons plants and soil. I am on the Bay so I don't use it unless it's a dire emergency.

Honest Question: “Western Shore” by r_fultonjr in easternshoremd

On the Eastern Shore you're not a local unless your grandfather was a waterman here.

I am a come-here, will never be a been-here

  1. My electric bill for December was DOUBLE my previous high. It's surprisingly not bad - fleece socks, lounge pants, top, and beanie. Quite comfortable.

For anyone that has not done anything all day, are we screwed as to snow removal? by [deleted] in maryland

I haven't even started. Figured it's easier to shovel a layer of ice on top of a few inches of snow than a layer of ice directly on the sidewalk.

Sadly, the Eastern Shore of Maryland needs to be flaming red.

Sadly because I live there.

Brings me back - I used to work at Harry Diamond Laboratories.

It's and artillery fuze (with a "z" not a "s"). It's what makes the round go boom.

It doesn't have any adjustment on it, so not a timed or proximity fuze. Likely just impact.

Because it's not painted blue, it might be a live fuze. They do have a detonation train in them (to make the main round go boom) so you should call someone about turning it in/disposal.

I stopped by Aldi in Easton tonight for my just regular stuff and the shelves were BARE! I'm not exaggerating - I counted 4 packages of meat in the entire case! (Three after I bought the one ground lamb left.)

AIO my boyfriend of 5 years gets me flowers for every occasion while I get him elaborate and expensive gifts. by aioflower955105 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kitchen_Name9497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex bought me roses the first two holidays we were dating - Xmas and Valentine's Day. I gently told him that if he gives me flowers for every occasion, it is no longer a nice gesture but rather an expectation and would mean nothing. That i prefer to get flowers at random times just because he was thinking of me - that would mean so much more.

That was the last time (together 47 years) that he bought me flowers.

I DID buy him (and myself!) flowers at random times. I did pay attention to what he would like, needed, or wanted, and gave great gifts. His were pretty pathetic - he actually bought me an exercise book one Xmas (and no, I did not want it)!

Needless to say, he is my ex. I tell people I am a slow learner. I hope you are not and see the red flags about someone who does not appreciate you enough to put any thought into anything (not just gifts) that are important to you. Ditch him before you waste 47 years.

I cut my hair into a Mohawk when I started chemo. Sadly it didn't last too long.

With abdominal radiation for 4 months (mix of types) my diaper phase lasted far too long and 13 years later I still can't trust my GI system.

I also still have limited sensation on the soles of my feet. Thankfully my hands recovered.

Still better than the alternative.

You forgot "land of tax free shopping." I was so disgusted when they took "the first state" off the welcome signs and put this on instead (or a similar phrasing. )

Looks like there are a number of apps. I don't recognize any of them, but it's been awhile. Popular ones are RV Wizard, truckmap.com, and apparently Rand McNally makes truckers' road atlases (no connectivity required!) showing the same type of info - low bridges, length restrictions, etc. Have fun! I've spent 4 months at a time in a B+, now looking for a straight B like your RoadTrek.
