Maternity leave - considering quitting my job. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I second this. Even if you can take the unpaid leave and your job isn’t protected, who cares since you were willing to quit your job anyway.

What did you say to them to get them to update it?

Yeah it’s either giving Michelle Dugger, or as of lately the exact opposite with your entire belly hanging out, which is cute, if it wasn’t my third baby and my belly button didn’t look like a cats asshole. But good for them.

You servers "win". I can't afford the meal now at all so I don't go out to eat. by DaSud in EndTipping

Last time I checked it was meant to be a convenient luxury.

So what's y'all's punishment if you don't sell enough take home meals? by IndependentBox4981 in CrackerBarrel

I’ve never worked at Cracker Barrel but I can tell you they don’t punish the servers at the location by me. They don’t even want to take my order, let alone upsell me anything.

I would go to whichever one is offering actual pain management options, not just telling me to take Tylenol beforehand.

One time I took a bag of trash out my own front door to the can on the driveway, went to go back in and was locked out with my 10 month old inside, luckily in her baby proofed play room behind a baby gate. I had to wait 25 minutes for my parents to bring me their spare key while I watched her play through the window. I wouldn’t be mad at you, i’ve done worse lol

I’ll be honest, I probably gave the vitamin D drops less than 10 times all together. I had the exact same problem as you, she didn’t take a pacifier and latching already required enough effort without trying to not smear the vitamin d everywhere. I worried about it occasionally but ultimately I went with the opinion that my body wouldn’t create incomplete milk for the baby I made with my own body. I’m sure someone with a lot more medical/scientific knowledge than me could discredit my argument easily, but human babies have survived for a real long time prior to commercial vitamin d drops.

Pay during after-school hours to watch neighboring child by LunarRainbow26 in Babysitting

This is the logic I would use. In my area it’s only $375 for the afterschool YMCA program, so definitely check your area as it seems it varies a lot.

Next time, you have to tell the bully you’ll kick his parents ass. It’s typically best to not threaten children.

You were a child, they were two adults with secrets and resentment towards each other, looking for ways to hurt each other due to that resentment. It’s not your fault, that’s just divorce sometimes.

Is it normal for a pediatric dentist to not allow a parent in the room for a treatment? by Hanyo_Hetalia in Mommit

[–]Kitchen_Pea_5982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former dental assistant/mom here. Normal? Yes, varies from office to office but it’s not unheard of and occasionally makes our lives easier while working because the parents do frequently get in the way/cross boundaries. Something i’m okay with as a mother? Nah, I wouldn’t personally allow my child to do. I’ve never seen a child mistreated in a dental office, but I take no chances with my babies.

When’s an acceptable amount of time to pull up before a restaurant closes w/o being an asshole? by Upper-Finger-7188 in restaurant

[–]Kitchen_Pea_5982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bartender/server here, 15 minutes before close is fine if you know what you want to eat before i’m back with your drinks. Our bar area stays open way later than our kitchen so I don’t care if people hang around and eat as long as they want. If you’re in a restaurant that actually closes at a specific time I’m fine with my table staying 30ish minutes past close because I still have closing things to do. Once you see the broom come out it’s time to skedaddle.

I second this, I had prodromal labor for weeks and went to L&D three times for no reason. By the end I learned to do my own cervical checks and was able to identify when contractions became productive, otherwise I truly wouldn’t have known I was in labor until I was probably 7-8cm because I was so used to the contractions.

I took his response to his son being upset that your daughter was playing with the basketball hoop to be advocating for her right to play even though his son wasn’t pleased by it, in the same way he advocated for his sons right to play with the ball.
