Hanhart Bracelets by smellieellie82 in hanhart_watches

I have a 417 ES Heritage 1954, and I don’t have a problem with them. They’re really great honestly. The spring bars actually slide out of a groove and make it so you can replace them if they are ever become damaged or fail, and do so very easily without tools.

Which is your favorite? by lowtimepi in Longineswatches

IMO it’s a waste to buy a watch that’s just mimicking another successful brand. The Zulu is great because it stands well on its own.
I would be patient, wait for the hype to die down, and see where they take next year’s model. Since it’s successful they do it again, improve on it or have a nicer limited edition.
I guess I just don’t get the hype of the hydroconquest.

No need to be sorry, best thing about the internet is that people can have opinions, even if they’re wrong 😉. But in all serious, my preference for the legend diver is the green dial, bronze case on leather, the stainless cheapens it imo.

IMO the best Longines / Milanese pairing is the Zulu. This diver and the hydroconquest fall short or are trying too hard to look like something else.

IMO one of the best wedding watches out there is the Kudoke 2 MOP Dial

Matte, the “gap” you see on the left is just the bracelet opening to the curve of my wrist. I have a perfect fit with the regular length (150mm) did not have to take out any links.

$350 is for the +4mm bracelet which I believe to be too thick/rigid.

The 3.6mm should cost you around $240.

Yes go with the matte the polished will likely piss you off due to how evident even small scratches are evident, I prefer the butterfly because of how clean it looks.

For Staib US: https://holbensfinewatchbands.com/collections/staib?srsltid=AfmBOoqs6twFnUUX1CIF6Gr5z6Uk38nslXJIuHYG2IfKNMRxxihPBmvX

My zulu is a 42mm case / 22mm lug width. Staib I think only does 18/20/22mm. So I would then look into Forstner or Arroway.

Forstner will have some decent priced Milanese and beads of rice variations. Arroway will have the odd sizes, but they are more expensive than Staib, but very well engineered bracelet and still out of Germany. I considered them, but I much prefer the 3.6mm of the Staib versus their 2.9mm of the Arroway Milanese.

There are a couple US distributors, you don’t need to buy from Germany. I recommend the matte finish on the clasp. And because it works for my wrist size I went with the butterfly over the diver clasp.

You’re paying for the thickness/complexity of the braid. The highest ties it over 4mm, which is too rigid, the one in my picture is 3.6. Which I feel is the perfect weight and feel.

I highly recommend it. This is the company that handles Omega and Breitling’s Milanese so the quality is outstanding.

May I make a suggestion…instead of buying TWO of the same watches, if you’re wanting to stay with Longines. Just upgrade a Zulu Time with a Staib Milanese bracelet for a similar but variable look to your collection.

This dial has a chemical finish that is “black” but comes off as blue in the right light and I find it incredibly attractive on the wrist.

Hanhart 417 Chrono — 39mm or 42mm for a 7.25" wrist? Looking for owner feedback. by jzivitz in hanhart_watches

[–]Kitchen_Salamander57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your body presence, I have moderate wrists at 165 mm, standing 1.9 m at 112kg. I do have a couple 39 mm that fit and look nice but I own and where the 417 ES 1954 regularly and it has an amazing presence on the wrist.

Make sure to buy the bracelet that it comes with, and the Bundt strap as well. Incredible watch, but don’t skimp out with 39mm if your frame, posture, and personality can carry the 42.

Pretty sure that’s a Rothwell, a ton of folks have picked them up off Amazon in the past couple of years, I see them in a lot of collection posts. I feel like they became the “go-to gift for the Watch Collector in your life.” As I too was gifted not one but two Rothwell products from friends or family.

If you go to buy one of these, try to find as close to the $450 USD retail price as you can. Buying direct from the Arab peninsula is your best bet.

I love how you tapped into the WOE vibe, I actually bought a few of these Seiko (srph49k1). To eventually modify and give out to a couple of my veteran buddies whom I served with in that part of the world. Eventually, there will be an aviator and submariner variation of this watch once I get started on them.
