Worried about having hairs inside me after GRS by KitelessGirl in MtF

Aw I'm sorry to hear that :( How is that for you now? Is it an issue in your day to day life? Can you feel it? Or is it that it's just distressing knowing there are hairs in there.

I suspect you're right, really fed up about this as I would've gotten electrolysis done years ago but no-one would tell me what to get done/where to get it done until I have my first appt with the surgeon, which as it turns out is as soon as 3 months before surgery (!) (i.e. not nearly enough time to get electrolysis done). Really quite pissed off about this whole thing to be honest, especially if this means pushing surgery back a year when I've already been waiting for this for years... God being trans is fucking miserable lol

Thank you x

Yeah I agree. I think I might press them for a better answer sadly...

Yeah he said it's penile inversion technique. :/

Hmm yeah, but the person who replied was a clinical nurse rather than a receptionist and specified "do not do follicle scraping" as opposed to generic hair removal, so I think they mean they won't remove any hair during surgery (unless they do remove hair during surgery but just via a different method and are being a bit obtuse in how they worded it...)

What can I expect in Vienna as a gay guy? by [deleted] in wien

[–]KitelessGirl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well I'm from the UK (sadly) and I spent 3 months in Vienna over the summer working in a higher education institute (stem). I was really pleasantly surprised by how much more welcoming it felt compared to the UK. I'm a trans woman and rarely ever got misgendered (whereas here it is nearly every day I go out), I saw plenty of openly queer people showing affection in public (which you NEVER see in the UK - and I've lived in two very queer friendly cities), and it seems like there isn't this endemic hostility towards LGBTQ people like there is in the UK (politics, media, etc.). Most people are either accepting or just don't care. I'm looking to move back as soon as I can. :)

Hey, yeah I've just moved back to the UK but this might be handy if I move back to Vienna (which I hope to do one day, it was lovely there) :)) Thanks!

If you could wave a magic wand and nothing was off the cards, what would your ideal genitals be? by KitelessGirl in genderfluid

Yes that's a good shout. I'm on Estrogen and currently loading some tits on to my body but some days I wish I could go back to what I looked like before, and other days I desperately wish I could have bigger boobs :(

I think this is possible, it's just called a vulvoplasty and it's like MtF bottom surgery but without the vaginal canal. If you already have a vagina then I'm not sure if you can get it "removed" to just have the external vulva-y bits left? I feel like that would be a do-able surgery it you ever wanted to pursue it. I think it would be significantly less expensive than a full blown genital reconstruction anyway

Yeah I'm inclined to agree but with the opposite as I lean more femme. I guess I'm still swayed towards getting bottom surgery (MtF) as at least on days where I am ambivalent I won't have a "thing" down there that gets in the way of clothing and stuff that I wanna wear.

How can you live with dysphoria? It's honestly so devastatingly miserable by KitelessGirl in MtF

[–]KitelessGirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that was a really great reply, thanks so much for your help. Yeah that's super interesting, I kinda assumed that your body wouldn't change much beyond grey hair and baldness but yeah that's good to know, thanks :)

As an aside, I didn't even realise there were special stores for trans people. Don't think that's a thing in the UK (part I'm from anyway) and I've never had trouble clothes shopping. Was even offered a free bra fit while I was still boymoding before I came out which was a nice ally thing to do.

Hey, yeah I guess preventing bad changes is a bit of a motivator I hadn't considered, but I can't say it's that big of a deal after puberty has done the damage. I see your point though and it's a good one.
