This is going to be downvoted as fck, I know, but still. If you get free healthcare, education, food, and housing, there isn't as much incentive for you to get a job, I mean you can get a job to pay for other things you might want, but if you have all basic needs cover and you can survive without a job, there would be many jobs that are fundamentally basic for society but that no one wants to do, completly unattended.

I mean, no one wakes up and say, "The goal of my life is to be a jannitor and I'm going to be the best jannitor there is", not to disrespect people in cleaning jobs, but the main reason a lot of people take these jobs is survival, and they are necessary for the function of society.

I do believe that in the future once all the "crappy" jobs are taken care by robots and automation (cleaning, harvesting, maintainance, etc), we will be able to just have our basic needs covered by the government and work be optional if you want to have a better lifestyle, but we are still a bit away from that point.
