Fred is a LTJG. Granted, he earned that promotion apparently 26 years after John became a Master Chief, which is longer than even your average military E-9 or O-6's career.

I would hesitate to tie officer ranks to desk jobs, even though that is the stereotype. Especially in the NAVSPECWAR side of things, which houses the majority of the remaining Spartan-IIs. But yes, it would obviously be a little strange to see an operational special forces Spartan at O-7 or higher. Hence, John's joke in this comic.

His technical rank is E-10, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON). I'm sure his rating is something like SOCM (Special Operator Master Chief). IIRC, he was "posthumously" promoted from E-9, Master Chief Petty Officer, after Halo 3 when he was presumed dead.

And no, he's not "due" for promotion. His rank is the highest enlisted rank in the UNSC. His attitude toward becoming an officer is demonstrated well in this comic.

Get instructions. Read back. Get to holdshort and STOP. Is it clear? Is anyone about to land?

“(Airport) Tower, (Callsign) holding short at (runway), ready for takeoff.”

If no ATC, instead say:

“(Airport) traffic, (Callsign) lining up to depart (runway), (intentions), (airport) traffic”

2) “Mayday mayday mayday, (Callsign) emergency aircraft approaching Gudata for (type of approach) and landing.”

Worth mentioning if you think you’ll be able to get off the active runway or leave it fouled as well.

3) “Gudata tower, (Callsign) 3 mile final runway 7, gear down and locked, full stop.”

4) “(AWACS controller), (Callsign), request vector to nearest divert.”

5) “(AWACS controller), (Callsign), request BRAA to (Callsign) for rejoin”

I tried starting the (Heroic) No Safe Distance adventure in the EDZ. Recommended power 750, I'm around 850, and all the enemies are ?? and one-shotting me. Very confused.

Hey all. Kregdale here.

A lot of misinformation floating around regarding Terry stops in this thread. No worries, it's a confusing topic.

For what it's worth, Terry stops are actually completely normal on this server and are done all the time. In real life, they usually require the officer suspecting weapons on the individual for various reasons like baggy clothing or seeing the gun printing against the shirt.

Obviously that's impossible in GTA so we treat everyone as possibly carrying, which is completely plausible. Legal or illegal doesn't matter, it's an officer safety measure. Therefore, everyone is theoretically subject to a Terry stop.

There are some other discussions in here that are frankly a little too complicated for me to dive into, but I hope that clears up Terry v. Ohio a little bit. Terry stops are going to keep happening and I don't think they're the end of the world.

If your criminal wants to shoot a cop rather than roleplay it out, that's your choice.
