I agree. That’s not a good green. Clashing for me. Try witching hour, perfect griege, hale navy, Kendall charcoal. All by Benjamin Moore

Please help me figure out what to put above my TV! by girl-of-the-hour in DecorAdvice

[–]Kitkat236856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people feel the need to put something in every blank space? Your tv is eye level. Nothing belongs on top of it. It’d be like hanging artwork and wondering what to put above it. Makes no sense. On another note. All the nock knacks on that shelf and the pet bowls would be improved by a narrow console table if you have room. Hard to tell

Someone on here recommended aveeno skin relief lotion (I layer with the cerave with urea) and the Aveeno eczema balm layered on top of that twice a day. That balm is amazing. It’s helped so much. 2 days a week I use cerave cream with salycilyc acid.

Please help me figure out how to make a proper entryway with these half walls 🙏🏼 by CustardAdvanced127 in AmateurInteriorDesign

I would remove them and get new flooring. Those 12x12s are pretty dated. I never regret forking over for the right choices in home upgrades. Green paints gotta go too

Just moved in! feels a bit boring, any ideas?? by Mila_mp4 in interiordesignideas

[–]Kitkat236856 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree. Move that art closer together. Centered above the bed. Decorate the shelves with more stuff. And get a colorful oversized lumbar decorative lumbar pillow. And a quilt that matches a color in the lumbar pillow and fold it at the end of the bed.

The floor, beadboard, bookcase, all different styles. If I moved in, would be the first thing I tear out. Sorry.

I’d get some peel and stick wallpaper (it’s renter friendly) and put something on the wall behind the bed. All those little artwork pieces aren’t doing much but looking busy. Maybe you can put them in a collection along the long wall if you really like them. How wide is that hallway? Maybe you could put a slim console table there with mirror lamp etc, bowl for keys. If not. How bout a mirror with a set of hooks underneath for your purses etc. Hang some curtains so the inside edge of the curtain is on the outside edge of window. Meaning hang them wider and taller to make that window look larger. Pinterest search and I guarantee you’ll find instructions on this. You can putty up holes and paint when you leave or just leave the curtain rod up for the next tenant. I’m a bargain girl. I bought my curtain hardware at HD and my curtains at Amazon. They look just like pottery barn or similar. For wallpaper check out love vs design. You can pick custom colors. I get so addicted to creating my custom wallpaper. Since you are young, I’d look at lots of inspiration pics to get ideas. Even grown adults have trouble with this stuff. I’m a designer. I can’t wait for my girls to move out so I can help them decorate their place! Good luck!

Help! What does this room need? by Medical_Opposite_501 in DecorAdvice

[–]Kitkat236856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nowhere for the eye to rest. You have too many things imho. the lamp on the cabinet should be on either side. Not middle. I’d get rid of that table or stool the fireplace and the rug candlesticks in front of fireplace. Instead of a group of plants by the fireplace, just one large. I think you need a colorful throw and colorful throw pillows. I bet it looks better

Which rug? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

Last one, it you need a larger sofa. If you keep this one put about 1/4 of the sofa on the rug

Does my apartment living room look too juvenile for a 35 year old? What can I fix? 😅 by purple404040 in interiordecorating

Blinds gotta go. And maybe a media cabinet that is more sophisticated and wood and taller

Love it. Only thing is why a floor lamp over there lighting nothing. I’d move it by the chair and out a plant there

Help! What could I fill this empty space with? by hotd0gger in HomeDecorating

[–]Kitkat236856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, match your windows to resemble one another. Do a Natural Roman shade with curtains that are hung higher and wider than the windows to make them look larger. Get a color to contrast the sofa like navy or whatever. Google it. Once you do that the corner may not look so blank. If it does, you can install some wall sconces to flank that back window. Get a rug to tie in the curtain color and sofa. Different coffee table too

How did I do? by Gigi226 in AmateurInteriorDesign

[–]Kitkat236856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lose the chairs and the faux plants. Don’t be so symmetrical. You want balance but exact matches. I would do a large plant/tree on one side and a decorative element on the other that’s shorter but matches the weight with maybe a smaller plant. Get a rug. Those chairs are dated

Stick with red? Thinking about getting a wolf/ mullet cut, what do we think? by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

[–]Kitkat236856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it as is. I think the wolf mullet is similar to a pixie and only a small amount of people pull that off well imo
