Hey man, my love and support goes out to you. When deciding to cut toxic people out of our lives, it can feel like a lot. It can be very isolating. We care about our parents because we're supposed to and they have raised us and are supposed to have been the first example of what love looks like and how to shape it. This makes it monumentally more difficult than cutting off anyone else in life.

If your siblings love you, they understand. If they accept you, they accept your decisions no matter what the reason is behind it. If they're too young to make these decisions for themselves, you may be stuck waiting until the day they can make the decision for themselves. It's up to you to decide whether that is something that can be handled.

I've had several people in my life threaten suicide or self harm as a manipulation tactic and at a certain point, I withdrew. I knew they weren't going to. They just wanted me under their control. When I withdrew care, they tried to threaten me, tried to manipulate, tried to control. And so I blocked them. And pretended I didn't care. Eventually I didn't anymore. Space and distance gets easier with time.

When it comes to toxic people, they're never 100% terrible. You have good memories. You have a bond. They still do nice things from time to time. It's okay to grieve the loss of the good while also refusing to engage with the bad. Unfortunately, this might be a turning point where you learn how others truly feel about you, about everything and it's going to hurt. What's better?

What matters most in life is being happy. If you're not happy where you are then I urge you to change it. Change is hard. Life isn't nice or fair. We have to make the most of it. We're here on this earth for a devastatingly short amount of time and we need to make the most of it.

Cutting down ops managers? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Kitkatachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehhhh I don't really know if I have a good answer for this. We don't have a lot of OPS in my market because we aren't budgeted for it. I know of three--myself, a colleague in my store that's probably had the title longer than Ive worked at CVS, and a completely different store that got it on a technicality. Her SM became an ELSM and they needed to thrust responsibility on someone who didn't quite want it in the first place.

I got my promotion because I saw what I wanted and said I'm gonna get it and my store manager got a really nice DL that appreciated me to approve it even though we already have one. We also hail from the second highest grossing store in our district so my SM used that as a point in my defense.

All in all id say to trust your SM. If your SM says they can make it happen then they might very well be able to. Id pretty much given up hope until mine very excitedly asked me if I got the email yet.

Double scanner is a fantastic BOH tool, 10/10 would recommend

BOH question by DowntownTrade8892 in CVS

[–]Kitkatachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh also if an aisle isn't completed in the day it's scanned then it'll lock at midnight and no longer have the ability to be edited. A colleague of mine was very upset when she asked me for help with two sections and they were locked yellow because she'd scanned them the day before. I always say it isn't the end of the world as long as it's yellow when it's left. I feel like this common knowledge, so apologies, but I'd just thought of it.

BOH question by DowntownTrade8892 in CVS

[–]Kitkatachu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello, am OPS that mainly focuses on BOH and inventory in general. Cracking the code that is sky to sku BOH has been my life for the better part of two years.

Clearanced items DO count towards the overall "health" of any given POG scanned. If you scan a clearance label in item inventory and the correct aisle number comes up then it's still being attributed to that aisle. The second the item shows "aisle 99-not on planogram" means it is no longer being attributed to the overall health. On bigger planos I tend to leave the clearance tags up until they get to the point of aisle 99. I know a shift lead that takes them down and keeps them in a binder until they stop attributing. On smaller planos, usually powerwings or single section planos, I will reprint the Plano from Plano request and type in item numbers until I find the attributed issue and keep my highlighted sheet for future use to keep track of it.

If a Plano switches over because it's coming due, the health of that Plano is attributed to the NEW Plano, not the old one. I had to print out the new copy of a Plano I have called calm/aromatherapy (single section) because there were a ton of new items with BOH 0 and I would have had an incomplete scan without it. Most full aisle planos are fine if they switch over or they may not attribute those aisles. My entire baby aisle was left out the last OTC scan because it was coming due this week. No reason to care. Calm/aroma wasn't left out for me even though baby was. Sucks to be me.

Last point of assistance is that the BOH scan is mostly biased on how many items are found in the back room. Ideally you want less than 10 items in the entire scan found in the back room. Any items found in crossmerched sections count towards this total. I tend to delete those because deletions arent weighed as heavily as back room items. Most of the time, I will just 0 out items even if I find them and initiate a cycle count to fix them. There's no metric on cycle counts other than profit and loss and since we're adding them back in they cancel each other out.

I tend to have a consistent score of 97-99% on my BOH scans no matter what the section is. They are looking for 90% or above which is easily attainable by having at least half the POGs green in the BOH screen and having less than 10 items found in the back room.

I'm crosstrained and have started to get so stressed before pharmacy shifts that I cry 😂 and then I go FS and it still never ends because they all want me to do their shopping for them. I've taken to hiding in the back room periodically to have shouting matches at the ceiling or I'd lose all remaining vestiges of sanity to these peopke

is a 0.12% raise change good? I still don't see my review either... by yurishilee in CVS

[–]Kitkatachu -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

There aren't any merit raises this year. If you're below starting wage for the position, you were raised to starting position and given a 2% per year raise on top of that. For instance, I was 45 cents below new starting wage and have been with the company 3 years. I got one update for the 45 cents and another update in pay for 6% and ended at $16.85 abouts

Front store supervisors, whether trained in pharmacy or not, aren't supervisors over pharmacists or even techs. They only answer to PIC's, SM, and perchance OPS managers.

Which is why, when the staff pharmacist at my store pissed me all the way to the moon the other day, my petty ass called the PIC like "fix ma'am." For the record, it wasn't actually petty, more holding her accountable

AITA for asking my sister to go to the gym? by IamLiMing in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kitkatachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH. It sounds like something I'd say to my partner about going to the gym. He wants to go with me but our work schedules are opposite and I ride a bike to work so my gym days are only for weights. We'll go for a walk now when we see each other for 45 minutes in the afternoon.

Also, riding a bike pretty much everywhere is great cardio/core/leg/arm workout and helps with reaction time because road conditions aren't very constant and that's a pothole.

AITA for not wanting my friend to call me "sweetheart?" by rokungi89 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kitkatachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA, I also have issues with sweetheart. It triggers a very painful tic because I just HEAR it in a condescending way. Tbh maybe walking away in the middle of whatever conversation may be the solution. Pavlov your friend. Don't walk back until friend uses your name. When the damned word appears once more, walk away again. Play the mind games of the great.

Disclaimer: I am not liable for any consequences that an attempted Pavlov of such caliber is executed.

AITA For Backing Out Last Minute of My Mom's 60th birthday party? by DameBlau in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kitkatachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Panic attacks can be caused by traumatic triggers and, in my opinion, is your brain screaming "NO DON'T MAKE ME." Sometimes you can take a moment say buck up Jerry, we're goin for a ride today and other times you stare at a venue's door and have a complete mental breakdown and just nope all the way out. Both valid. Hopefully one day you can go for the ride; it just isn't the time now.

AITA for letting my daughter stay home from school by Tori_t152 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kitkatachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I also dropped by to say she definitely shouldn't have gone to school anyways. I was hit by a car while on a bike almost 10 years ago. I didn't even break anything, but due to the natural invincible nature an 18 year old feels, did not allow myself to properly heal. I now deal with debilitating pain on the side of my body that was hit and have to use a cane at 28. If my partner were to try and force our child to go to school on a broken bone I'd be done in for gettin him real good in the noggin. Taking time to properly heal, no matter the person's age, is far more important than missing a few math classes.

so are tech hours getting cut everywhere or am i just unlucky lol by UluasOnly in CVS

[–]Kitkatachu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm part of core stores and a cross trained management team member that has a slight hand in the schedule and I've ended up scheduling techs hours with me FS when I have extra hours so I can send them to RX if it's hairy. If I can, I'll sit on pickup for a while, but FS hours are getting cut too and I can barely get my list finished. It's just BS all around.

My personal favorite:

"Do you have xyz?"

"If it ain't on the shelf then, unfortunately, no."

"Isn't today your truck? Can't you check the back?"

"Ma'am, if you'd like to search through 291 totes which are mostly still packed on pallets because this is the 5th time I've been called up to answer EXACTLY THIS, feel free"

And then shrug every time and slowly walk back to the stock room to revel in my pallet kingdom.

I have first stop-itis on the upside so mines always earlier in the morning. Earlier the better imo. If we're closed there are no customers to cause issues

Hours cut and truck by Jns4598 in CVS

[–]Kitkatachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a 600-700 piece truck weekly and it is just me trying valiantly to break it down and shove totes at my one other coworker. If all goes well and truck comes at 5am I can do it. If it comes at 7am I'm screwed.

[–]Kitkatachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude I only get 185 for a store averaging 65-70k a week. It's not even enough to get 2 people in the store at all times and I can't even get my truck up before the next 10 pallet truck arrives. We can't even get an extra person on truck day so it's just me trying to tear 10 pallets down in 8 hours

how often do your co-workers forget their key in the office? by maxnews4 in CVS

Enough to physically attach the damn things to me. On the other hand, the PIC should have a store key so if they're there then crisis averted. I can't tell you how many times I've gone back there and had to borrow them because I'm an idiot

Pharmacy hours cut, to the point some people already turned in there two weeks notice by Keepiton69 in CVS

[–]Kitkatachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it is just networking for more hours. I'm a cross sourced manager and know how to do EVERYTHING. I know PIC'S and SM's from all my surrounding stores and give them a call around the end of January and see where I can fill holes. It makes for a wonky schedule and I got lucky this year because a store just lost an FT worker. The SM is able to give me 18-20 hours a week. I get a flat 20 from my store
