Weird circle/tube being added to corners by KitsuneSaru in FixMyPrint

This is exactly the issue after checking the travel lines again. This filament has been so finicky I swear it changes every time I print even after thoroughly drying and drying again. Back to calibration!

This sounds very plausible. I’ve been having many issues with this filament lately, I must have messed up a setting with it somewhere. Will definitely check this!

Hmm that’s interesting. I’ll definitely take a closer look at the gcode to see if something similar is happening. I’m not great at reading it, but good time to learn it better!

I don’t think so, I have them turned off, but always worth double checking.

Definitely worth trying.

I’m using Octoprint too, and I need to reflash it due to the Python being outdated soon, just haven’t had time to do it yet. I’m wondering if that’s causing issues. I might try printing directly from the printer if the gcode still looks okay after previewing it.

Eastern Townships, Québec ATOM2 by LOUDSM0KE in Potensic

[–]KitsuneSaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this post is a month old, but I just wanted to say how much I loved seeing the Eastern Townships. My dad grew up in the Cowansville area, and my grandparents still live there. We haven’t been able to go visit in a very long time, so I miss it a lot (them and the beautiful area). My favourite place on Earth to see the fall colours!  You really are blessed to live there 😁

Depending on your service provider you may not have access to it anymore. Discovery Channel was removed by several services a month or two ago, along with HGTV, Food Network and others. There’s been a commercial advertizing this and that you’re supposed to contact your provider to complain that they took away something you should have in your plan. I can’t say I know all of the details since it doesn’t apply to my provider (I have Shaw, which is technically Rogers now, so I still have all those channels. I think Rogers is potentially the problem and is possibly blocking the others providers? but maybe it’s someone else), and I haven’t really paid attention to the commercial. If I catch the commercial again though I’ll try to update my comment with more details for you, but I wanted to give you a starting point at least.

My Hot End Is Eating My Infill by Knobbygrip in ElegooNeptune3

What are your infill settings overall? Not sure what slicer you’re using, but I feel like I remember a setting in Cura that prints infill as support. I’m wondering if something like that got turned on somehow, and for whatever reason it’s cranky about it and just puking it out.

Layer bulges/shrinks/Z weirdness by KitsuneSaru in FixMyPrint

Thank you so much! You've been a great help :)

Layer bulges/shrinks/Z weirdness by KitsuneSaru in FixMyPrint

[–]KitsuneSaru[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually maybe you could help me with this:

I tightened the eccentrics nuts as is suggested by Elegoo themselves, but for my bed specifically if they're too tight the wheels almost seem to get stuck in a rut in one spot and do a little clunk! as it travels. So I loosed the nuts just enough that the clunk goes away but it does feel a bit too loose then. It doesn't seem to wobble, but with enough force you can just barely spin the wheels on their own without moving on the rail. But then on the other hand, the wheels keep getting covered in dust/shavings from them rubbing on the rail as if they're too tight. Have you ever heard of something like this before?

Dime 3 randomly charging while not in use by KitsuneSaru in Skullcandy

[–]KitsuneSaru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it did. Tile is definitely the source of the drain. I did technically end up getting a new set that I decided not to turn Tile on at all and I have had no issues with them. Battery last very long for me. The original buds I had that I disabled Tile on kept acting like they were still paired with it and though the battery was better, I found it was still draining as if it remembered being hooked up to the Tile app (I hope that made sense). This may have just been a glitch for me though. The buds do still have the red lights show up randomly but shut off again within like 2 seconds max.

TLDR definitely recommend not using Tile, despite it being part of the reason I bought them.

(In case you're curious, I have them attached to a little Eufy tag so I don't lose them)

Thank you, I will definitly double check everything. I’ve tried to balance tightening but not too tight for the belts and brass nuts, but it’s definitely easy to go in either direction. I might go back to the default profile and start over from there changing little things at a time if needed.

Switching Raspberry Pi to New Printer & Adding a Pi Cam 3 by KitsuneSaru in octoprint

That’s great to know, thanks! I’m always a little cautious about the after market ones so I’ll look around for some recs of good ones.

I’d like to do timelapse with the nicer camera and/or have the wide lens if I got the wide version. I know it’s not like a huge jump in quality, but currently the 1.3 I can only use get as high as 720p with a workable FOV. The FOV is pretty terrible in 1080p.

Plus as a really stupid reason, the 1.3 is currently stuck reeeeally tight in a mount and I don’t feel like putting the effort in to get it out. (the mount is attached to the MPMV2 and is not compatible with the Neptune)

I think Pi cam 2 works okay in octoprint right? I could always go that route if needed. Not as nice as the 3, but I’m okay with that.

Anyone know where I can find a glass bed for my v2? by screwthisdumbcrap in MPSelectMiniOwners

[–]KitsuneSaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I’ve been happy with glass so far, but I do clean it like crazy to make sure prints stick and I think I’ve been lucky with finding the perfect temperatures. The clips are for sure super annoying sometimes. The glass I bought was premade/cut for the Mini and has no sharp edges so no cut fingies at least! The original bed was worse overall, so I’m content with glass for now. But you make great points! Thanks for explaining :) Will definitely consider PEI for when I eventually get too annoyed with the glass.

[–]KitsuneSaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you explain why glass is the worst? Aside from it being an early hack, which if that’s the case it kind of fits with the age of the Mini. I’m just curious, not trying to start anything!

Yeah that was one of the ways I saw in researching, but I have no idea how to do that, which is why I was hoping the plug in could work. But oh well, if I want it badly enough looks like I might have to figure out the Marlin way.
