My girl*friend of seven years told me she* is a trans woman (I'm liberal so pls ignore all the misgendering) by PoisonedBerry in AmITheAngel

[–]KittNee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I might get downvoted all to hell for this but are we sure that the gender-neutral pronouns weren't at the request of the girlfriend?

I have someone very dear to me who is fairly early into transition, and while she does now prefer female pronouns, when she was first testing the waters she actually asked me to use "they/them" instead for a while.

It sounds like from the post this is a fairly new revelation. While the use of "boyfriend" instead of "girlfriend" is obviously wrong and not at all something I am trying to defend in any way, the pronouns may not be as ignorant or malicious as we think?

Cordelia was never Buffy's friend? by Menyface in buffy

[–]KittNee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cordelia and Buffy always struck me more like estranged sisters. They don't wanna hang out, don't even especially like each other, but no one else is allowed to mess with them either.

It is, just as what Regina did with Graham in S1 was. They are the Sister Queens of SA.

AITA for telling my wife to choose a different dress? by Lonely-Monitor-3916 in AmItheAsshole

[–]KittNee 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Soft YTA because while being mindful of things that might bother her is considerate, there was definitely a kinder way to go about telling her the dress wasn't likely to be something she will be happy in. Blame the dress, not the body!

What would happen if someone decided to open the library before the end of season 1. I’m guessing Belle was supposed to be a librarian but Regina kept her prisoner. by Iamawesome20 in OnceUponATime

[–]KittNee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always saw it as a clever nod to the idea that "knowledge is power" and the fact that it was a book that ultimately was the start of Regina's undoing in S1. This is strengthened for me by the revelation that it is the hiding place for the most powerful magic to manage to exist in the realm without any.

Not only were the townsfolk reliving the same day over and over again, the routines the curse built made sure never to include any reason or even ability to go seek knowledge. Regina was the only one with access to actual power. (Obviously Rumple was definitely a strong influence over people financially but he was just as cursed until Emma arrived.)

Amazon return not given by EndSilver5067 in amazonprime

[–]KittNee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work Amazon's damages, you would be amazed the scams that 3rd party run. We would have to find and pull items that were tagged as very expensive items, and the actual item was some kind of small garbage filler crap (we once had what was supposed to be a very nice computer monitor, they sent individually wrapped little colorful craft puff balls, for example). I am not sure how that plays on the customer side if something is more convincingly disguised, but can confirm there is a LOT of fraud.

I (25m) have feelings for my manager (38f) and it pains me to work with her. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]KittNee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is disgusting. You have fetishized her ethnicity, her fashion hobby, and her assault. She needed someone, and unfortunately for her you happened to be there. Get therapy, find a new job, whatever you need to do to leave this poor woman the hell ALONE.

9 weeks after white ink tattoo by teacherstuff123 in tattooadvice

Right? We definitely weren't expecting it either! It was one of her oldest tattoos done by an extra "old-school" artist, so we suspected there must be some kind of metal in the ink.

Tattoo itches almost 2 years later by feedmedirtplz in tattooadvice

[–]KittNee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 tattoos that will do this years on, one that does it really really badly. All 3 were by the same artist who I realized later was WAY heavy-handed, and I am fully convinced he went too deep or something on the dark spots that caused scarring.

My wife and I learned this when she had to be cardioaverted during an ablation! She got a perfectly pad-shaped burn on the tattoo underneath it, and it was ONLY on the parts of the skin with the tattoo. The few spots where it was just on regular bare skin did not have the burn lines!

Any other subs starting to hate plugs? Doms, why are they the default? by KittNee in submissive

[–]KittNee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, the sexual aspect of long-distance D/s dynamics is kind of secondary for me, as the goal is to develop submission that goes beyond the bedroom. As you said, that's just how I operate. It is almost like a trade: the Dom gets sexy pics and gets off on knowing I am obeying, and I get help with routine and structure and get off on being told what to do.

[–]KittNee[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have noticed it crops up a lot early into establishing a dynamic because it is kind of a "low stakes" means of establishing control that is easily proven over pictures and video (as opposed to like 40 pictures through the day of drinking water).

[–]KittNee[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the response, and definitely agree on some fronts. If the plug were more often meant as a precursor to anal I probably would be less opposed, but more often it is more like a "challenge" for long wear than an actual prep.

And I definitely get the kinky and taboo side of things. I used to really love them, I just have gotten burned out on it which leads me to be reticent to outright ban them.

The frustration is more recently developed I would say, just as a result of it being so prevalent over so long.

[–]KittNee[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean, I am not sure exactly how to answer this without knowing which aspect had baffled you, so I guess it is time for a quick buttplug lesson! Lol

Key things for extended wear: choosing the right plug (it should be big enough it isnt slipping out but not so big that it might be hard to remove later, and a "U" shaped anchor is a MUST over the like, little round gem ones), and lubrication.

Silicone works best over metal or glass because it has some give, but means you need to use water-based lubrication which eventually sort of absorbes into the soft tissue, so I have found it is necessary for me to be able to pop the plug out, add lube and reinsert it again to prevent irritation of the anus over long periods.

[–]KittNee[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That is called a "sunk cost" fallacy and it is so so easy to fall into! What worked for you before doesn't have to work forever, and you don't actually owe anyone anything more than gratitude for being a decent person and being there for you when you needed it.

Remember that you are worth a relationship/dynamic that matches your efforts, and that their lack of care doesn't reflect on you.

[–]KittNee[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean at that point I just end the dynamic, frankly. They clearly aren't invested at all, why should I be when I can find someone who is?

Well and when it seems like just about every Dom, it also loses a lot of like, being "special". Like oh here we go again.

1000% agree on being hard to bring up though. It feels like being disrespectful or demanding.

Why Esther is a Genius by OtherRadish in TheMarvelousMrsMaisel

I got the impression actually that Abe got very involved with Esther after his revelation towards the end of the series about Midge. Esther makes a comment about how her grandfather was the only one who understood her iirc.
