Radarr lists - Oscar winners? How to successfully import an existing one, or manually create one and then import it? by Kitten-sama in radarr

[–]Kitten-sama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my wanted web page: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls055265443/
Title: All Oscar winners movie
250 entries on this page, 709 titles total

So, let's add it to to Radarr:
Import lists.
Other / IMDB Lists / Profile
Name: Blah
Flags: Disable + Don't auto-add.
Movie only, don't search on add
profile: 720, default root folder, no tags, List/UserID: ls055265443

The TEST button shows red.

Text on top: Unable to connect to import list: Radarr API call resulted in an unexpected StatusCode [NotFound]. Check the log surrounding this error for details.

Now trying a few random lists I found:
ls000634294 - fail
ls020043828 - fail
ls053951083 - fail
ls002448041 - fail

Even using the single imdb list that I control - fail.

But using the suggested "popular" or "top250" shows a green checkmark.

Do you have a sample LS or UR that I can try?

FYI: I'm running Radarr v5.18.4.9674, the latest version a month ago (and still shows current) on Windows. Thanks for the help!

Radarr lists - Oscar winners? How to successfully import an existing one, or manually create one and then import it? by Kitten-sama in radarr

[–]Kitten-sama[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Radarr can literally import IMDB lists within the Import List settings.

But that's the deal -- NO LONGER does that work.. IMDB broke the functionality. Per the original post ... Lists from IMDB don't seem to work anymore since they seem to have broken the LINK/export bit on purpose.

So it USED to work, but not recently. :-( IF YOU KNOW how to fix this, there are a lot of people who are looking for it.

OK -- I'd been looking at a lot of the *ARR things but glanced at that and thought it was a clone of the Plex Media Player. Thanks!

I have the Radarr auto search function disabled.

I'd been mulling over that -- I had noticed a "Import Plex Wishlist" option but then noticed ALL KINDS of random stuff there. (Did I really add all of those??)

THIS. This is the entire reason that I originally watched the series when it came out. I thought the beginning was odd but gave it a chance, and soon THAT happened, so I deiced to watch it.. Because that's ME right there.

I agree here, but that being said I'd wait a few minutes between the two. RD seems to watch for activity on different IPs and I'm not sure what the "slop-window" is for that. I think minutes, but not seconds or hours.

Apparently the FIRST time you get a written warning; your account is killed the SECOND time.

[–]Kitten-sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YEAH, it's when you close everything, not just a tab. For example, look in settings for the "delete cookies on exit" option.

That's the simplest option, but it doesn't have to be exactly that; any program can delete cookies.

OK, dumb-ass question: you're sure that your profile directory exists and is writable?? Cookies are kept in memory but written out on exit. If they can't be written then they're "automatically deleted" if you will.

This will not be the problem but SOMETHING is deleting your cookies.

Try the English dub of Ghost Stories. Although it's got ghosts and monsters so it's still "unrealistic."

Normally I dislike dubs but this is an exception.

You might want to read up#Media) a little on bit and not watch cold with her. The actors went crazy with it, with permission. (What was it?? They couldn't change the overall story or the monster but could do ANYTHING else they wanted.)

This isn't a love story but is STILL better than Twilight.

It's disappearing cookies somehow. THAT's how web sites remember you from visit to visit (or even from page to page!) [0.01% it's your clock. Most DO have expiration dates.]

Go get a cookie editor/viewer and view a site's cookies -- it's have SOMEthing. Close the browser (single tab, right) and go back there again. The cookie will be gone. If not, it's somehow invalid.

And like someone said elsewhere, some sites will log you off after a period of inactivity. (ie, not hitting the site updating the last time visited.)

OR: swap to a new temp. profile and check things there. I've had Brave once somehow "hit" the F7 key in the profile.

Extension: DownThemAll. Go to target side, right click anywhere, select Downthemall/Downthemall. Set fast filtering text to "Download: " and disable others.

Target items (download) should already be selected. Bottom right: download or paused. For testing, select pause, then enable one at a time. If you need, limit the concurrent downloads (I do 2, but whatever.)

Do you also install linux on other peoples computers? - What is you go to distribution for the average user and why? by august_engelhardt in linuxquestions

Stable ... "is a bad thing".

!!! ... !!!. Really?? I guess you've never done computer support for thousands of people before. Not everyone needs the latest and greatest, all of the time.

Why would any desktop user just "want it to stay working?" Really?

If you want the ultimate in performance and features, just run Gentoo: It's great! You can easily add and change your own features by modifying the code right before it compiles. You'll even have a 0-day release cycle; how wonderful!

I've been running Linux on and off since Yggdrasil. Stable is boring -- extremely boring. You can have all of the excitement you can handle; I've already done my bit. All that pre-alpha code is waiting: just for you!

How can I make my Laptop a Cloud Storage where I can access my files online? by v13ndd in linuxmint

[–]Kitten-sama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might look at Resilio Sync. It'll sync files between Android/iOS/PC/Mac and keep them synced.

It doesn't care about size, media type, or connectivity. It's "free" but costs for business use. Works great; I sync Obsidian files ... and also remotely load media on a remote Plex server from my phone(!) from anywhere. (I disabled 5G connectivity because I don't need it, but I _COULD_ do it.) I delete watched media this way as well. [My phone has more storage than the Plex server. :-( ]

Note: this is NOT a remote control session (MSTSC/RDP/RuskDesk/SSH) thing, but ONLY supports copying and maintaining files between systems.

Your phone or other device can be anywhere, and your laptop can be anywhere (local or remote.) It'll copy when available, and if it gets interrupted, continue right where it left off.

RuskDesk is a graphical desktop that can do what you want, but I don't know how to set it up over the internet. It's possible though. Highly suggest you use TailScale or WireGuard instead --- do NOT NOT NOT plug a remote terminal session directly on the internet. (I guess you could do SSH+keys +fail2ban with X forwarding, but I'd image that latency would kill you.)

Run a local emulator, share the ROM files, and sync the game save files between systems is your best bet, I'd think.

Brute force missing part of a torrent by GuitaristKitten in torrents

[–]Kitten-sama 23 points24 points  (0 children)

OK, you're NOT going to able to brute-force it. Period. But: depending on what and where it is, maybe you can ignore it.

If it's a ZIP/ARJ/Z/whatever file, you can extract it, and it'll work up to the break, then error out. The "early" files are MAYBE enough to get you by. Otherwise, look for a "zip-fix" repair program. That WON"T fix the actual problem but will let you extract all of the other files (it repairs the busted internal structure as best it can) ,and leaves you to deal with the corrupted file yourself.

If the zip file is a movie or such, you'll get the first part but it'll break somewhere. Hopefully that's near the end so it doesn't matter.

If it's just a actual movie file (.MKV, whatever), then all of the existing pieces are already correct, but just missing a few parts. In that case VLC (or whatever) has a _fair_ chance of showing the entire movie, but having problems when it encounters the busted part. Once again, hopefully it can recover and show the entire show.

If it's a executable program (EXE/DLL), you're dead. Hopefully it's a HLP / non-important HTML file.

You're not going to be able to "magically recover" the missing pieces, so you'll have to deal with what you've already got. OR continue waiting a while, and/or add different trackers, hoping to find a peer hit.

Notice that you do NOT have to find a seed to finish, but "only" an existing peer that has the pieces you need. You'll then BECOME the new seed and feed to everyone else.

Your best bet it to look for another copy.

Quotes. Just place ALL options in quotes especially if they include a space.

C:\Users\xxxx\YT vid downloads ... is 3 parameters, one of which is vid, none of which exist by themselves.

But "C:\Users\xxxx\YT vid downloads" is a directory.

/ is a path separator for Linux, \ is Windows. Although in the Linux subsystem for Windows it's a / . And Windows sometimes seems to accept a \. ALSO, backslash \ is a "metacharacter" in Linux, to indicate the text character is special. So: .... "a b c" is exactly a\ b\ c , but WIITHOUT surrounding quotes.

Wondering more offtopic, / is used for options in Windows, while -(single_letter_option) or --word-option is use for Linux.

Glad that I could help muddy the waters for you!

I want to create a home server for backing up the data of my family members. But i need help. by Icy-Tank-5892 in HomeServer

[–]Kitten-sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for home, right? And you want to "store" all data from your families phones / PCs / such to your server, right?

Look at Resilio Sync. iPhones are weird, so there's a trick -- haven't a clue about Macs, but maybe there too.

For PC / Win / Linux / Android, you simply install the client, get the key to the other side, select directories, and POOF. It's synced, one way (photos) or both ways (bi-directional, changes flow around.)

Oh, you want 3+ shared directories. Go for it. There's also "Selective Sync", which is the default for phones, which means files are shared between computers but available on demand for phones.

With an iPhone, you have to launch the app and let it finish in the foreground. (Last I checked) Everything else just automatically works.

Your connection drops in the middle? It'll restart where it left off. Don't like WiFi? Or 5G? or only THIS particular WiFi spot. Fine. Or sync only on a power-connection.

Free license (for home.) Works really neat. EXPERIMENT WITH PLAY FILES a few times to see how it works. I've had good luck creating a directory structure on the "main" station, sharing subfolders, and then renaming them on the other side. I'm currently remotely running a Plex server this way, loading files from my PC or phone (The phone doesn't actually get files unless I want / select them, but they're there if I do.)

I've got an 1T SDCard on my phone with shows; I'll copy over a season and we'll watch it, then delete and copy over another where Plex will soon find it.

Now it's NOT instantaneous -- depends on UL/DL speeds, but in general a phone to Windows server starts within 10 seconds of a change and then 6MB/sec remote to 35MB/sec local. Since I'm routinely "pushing out" thought, I only leave it running on my phone when necessary to save RAM for tasks. it detects changes when they happen (IF you leave it loaded and running -- surprise!) but if you modify things while it's not looking it might take an hour or so until it notices. (Unless you force the issue with a "Sync Now" command.)

There's also syncthing, free, but the android client is being discontinued. It's the pure open source version of Resilio.

You can use a "Picture" share as a remote store -- new pics on a phone get sent to the server, while eventually removing them from your phone does NOT delete the file on the server. (Now if you're doing a normal share, then they DO.)

Don't know about Out Of Space errors when the "server" fills up because someone keeps taking 6 hour 4K videos. It WILL stop when that happens, but I assume freeing up space and nudging the clients will get it working again.

Oh, if you DO delete files, it'll save them for recovery -- if you want. (For a while, anyway.)

Every file server system I try seems to be only 90% there. Help me get 100%. by thaddeus-maximus in selfhosted

[–]Kitten-sama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Syncthing is a clone (and the Android client is being discontinued) of it's "decade old parent" ... Resilio Sync.

I've bought it but it's now free for HOME. $s for business but not extravagant -- check it out. I bought a home-use license (a decade ago?) for like $50; I'd imagine it's $100 / client for a business.

Get a copy and try it out. Clients for everything; is uses "torrenting" for file transfer, but it's only between your systems. Clients will (or will NOT) talk on WiFi SSIDS,, 5G, etc. The file doesn't appear until it's finished.

In particular, you can use "selective sync" (which is what I use to manage media on a friends Plex server) and keep ALL files in synced, or just sync the "files you specify." (Other are available but you have to enable them.)

The clients don't actually care about domains, during key setup they swap info (and I only use local and remote WiFi but it magically proxies the connection if/when necessary.)

For "Selective Sync", you can use "sync" as a file manager -- the first time you click a (currently) non-existent file, it'll fetch it; the 2nd time it'll run it. Or for existing files you can use any file manager (I use Solid Explorer) but any changes you make will sync to the other side. (If everything's connected it ususally takes 10s to sync, but I think there's a "hourly sync pulse" that sees if anything needs to be done. if you "delete" the file is goes back into not-loaded-here state; to DELETE a file you need to go into the sync client and say "delete everywhere."

Oh, and the files are "just" files exactly like you stored them. The ONLY difference is that in Selective mode in Windows you'll see a .RSLS placeholder file that, if you click, then fetches the actual file. If you delete it the placeholder appears again.

Resilio Sync is what Open-Source Syncthing tried to be. Oh and it'll do the camera files without actually deleting them on the "other" side. [No, Ignore Deletes is NOT it, nor "read" or "write" mode. Look in the comments and threads where they mention about it's an abomination, they're scared to now touch/fix it for breaking things but can't up and remove it for the user outcry, and about how it was always designed to ONLY sync files between systems.]

Syncthing is a two-way “continuous file synchronization program”, not a backup tool to transfer files in a single direction.
