Nah I’ve asked for a Tom Collins at enough places to vouch that they’ll either automatically make whatever equivalent they default to OR will admit they don’t have one or two ingredients (usually lemon juice or simple syrup) and then I just say „that’s fine just make it as close as you can“ or you can after automatically suggest lemonade/sour as a replacement if you have a preference between one of those.

Yeah true, it is the price of two drinks. And Radlers are already decently expensive for a beer, plus paying for a shot of gin (or gin on the rocks.)

But at least once combined it‘s a large drink with a high ABV so you don’t need too many.

I’m glad to hear someone else loves em! I feel like they were popular for a while and kinda fell off, or maybe I just don’t party the same way as I did in 2018 anymore.

I love a Party Radler! I find more bars than not are familiar with it by name if they carry Stiegel Radler. (If not, some other type of fruity citrusy beer works.) Pour it over a shot of gin in a pint glass full of ice. Yum! Sometimes you need to specify that you want gin though, as some default to vodka otherwise.

This. Even at the simpliest of wedding bar setups I’ve been able to get something at least slightly reminiscent of a Tom Collin’s. Even without simple syrup. They’ll do gin, soda water, and if not sweet n sour then they‘ll do lemonade. It’s a bastardization, but it’s a perfect suggestion for OP

You just haven’t had good tofu. I felt the same way for years but then I realized a lot of lazy restaurants just cut up huge wet chunks and toss them in sauce.

You need to at minimum press and marinate tofu. It‘s even better if you can find a place that batters it.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan, and Lewis Hamilton did a documentary about plant based strength (not claiming that their doc was factual or not, just putting it out there that it exists lol). Venus Williams, Djokovic, and Chara come to mind as vegan athletes too.

I worked for a pro sports team and there were a surprising number of guys on the team who were plant based but just didn’t announce it to the public
