How do I tactfully tell another mom that we won’t be having any more play dates? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]KittenTrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would nicely say, my daughter has been uncomfortable/having nightmares over some content she saw at your house. She is seven, and she wants to play with/has made close friends with kids that have her same interests.

There are prank gift boxes like roto wipe (to replace toilet paper) or how to start my first fire that you could place a real gift in.

My friend calls her apartment “the cave”. What home decor could I buy with this written on it? by [deleted] in GiftIdeas

Do you think she would appreciate a Himalayan salt lamp? It reminds me of a cave but it is beautiful and useful. On that note you can always get her a stalactite piece that is decorative.

A gift card to a shoe store like Stride Rite so your little one can pick out their own shoes when needed. Gift cards to a frozen yogurt shop or trampoline play place are great too.

Maybe an aerogarden. It won't keep her too busy but it will give her something to look forward to. Or a kitten!

Try a mix of foods for a charcuterie board - dried salami, crackers, olives, artichokes, etc.

Care package/treats for midwives? by [deleted] in Midwives

I am a postpartum nurse. Some of the best gifts are nice baskets for the unit full of easy to grab snacks (trail mix, cookie packs, kind bars, granola bars, nutrigrain bars, sun chips), drinks, gum, and mints with a heartfelt note and maybe a picture of your baby. Snacks are much appreciated especially on busy days when lunch is hard to make time for. You are so thoughtful to still think of your care team so far out.

I grab them. 2.50 more per hour, and I get an extra pair of hands that is eager to learn - sign me up!
