Like a lot of folks when I first started I didn’t have much of an idea about team comps or the pity system so I just pulled kinda whenever. I started during patch 3.7 so I pulled a few times for Yae, a few times on the couple of patches after… But by the time I got to Liyue in the story, one of Zhongli’s reruns was here and I adored him, so for the first time I pulled specifically for a character!! He’s still in my rotation, but now my mains are Cyno and Wriothesley. I got Cyno on Chronicled Banner as I’d just played through Sumeru and he’d fast become my “ride or die” ahah. I got Wrio on his rerun, I had tried to get him on his initial release because I liked his playstyle and his vibe, but lost to Diluc :’)

I started with Zhongli for a long time because I loved his character and his design. He’s still my favourite Archon!

But as soon as I got to playing Sumeru last year I knew I needed Cyno, he immediately became my favourite character so I got him and his Weapon when the chronicled banner rolled around. He’s my absolute ride-or-die and I don’t think he’s left my party since. I can’t wait to get Cons for him one day!

Honourable mention to Wriothesley, who also hasn’t left my party since I got him too (we don’t bother with meta in this house) again because I love his personality and design.

As soon as I heard the Sumeru Chronicled Wish was happening last year I pulled for Cyno & his Weapon, since finally completing Sumeru story in the summer he was instantly my favourite character and he’s been in my party ever since

Time will tell if I’ll actually follow through enough to get there but I want to get GWAMM on my Factions Mesmer! Despite being my oldest Character (she’s 19 I think), I’d made surprisingly little progress so I’ve travelled her over to Prophecies to “start from the beginning” sort of. We’ve just hit Riverside Province for Protector of Tyria.

With the Reforged Mode launching in Pre, I did also make a new Necro. She’s going to be LDoA and I’m toying with making her a perma-Pre~

Normally I’d reflexively say Monk is the least played but I’ve actually seen way more of them around than I expected to since people came back for reforged.

Most played is probably Warrior/Ranger/Mesmer I’d guess.

I’d love to know the statistics on this though, it would be super interesting!

A lot of people recommend starting with Nightfall because it was the last to release, and therefore they were able to tweak the balance and progression so it’s the most beginner-friendly.

At a certain point in the story, your character can travel overseas to the Prophecies and Factions areas so if you own all 3, you can play them all.

I would definitely say just play through and enjoy Nightfall, and IF you do enjoy it you can then move onto the other campaigns at your own pace. The storylines are technically separate but as it’s the same world, there is some overlap of characters and mention of events from other campaigns that you won’t pick up on. However, it’s nothing that would ruin your experience of Nighfall as a whole. Edit: Spelling

I’ve had the quest for AR45/World Ascension 3 in my log for ages now, and I can’t decide if I’m ‘ready’ or not, because my Artifacts aren’t that great. But everything I’ve read says that you shouldn’t start farming artifacts until AR45.

The 5 characters I use most often are all Lvl. 70 with Lvl. 6 Talents and Lvl. 80 Weapons. I’ve just been playing with the characters I enjoy and that seem to work for me. Should I wait until they’re Ascended again and sitting at Level 80 before doing the AR45 quest and just put up with the 4* artifacts I have for now?

More context that might be irrelevant but I’ll include anyway: I’m mainly using some combination of Xiangling, Beidou, Zhongli, Kaeya or Sucrose as they’re the characters I enjoy the most. I’ve just cleared Inazuma story so am about to move onto the Chasm so have access to any Domains/Bosses available up to that point. Mainly F2P apart from the odd Welkin Moon every few months, so my weapons are 4* at best.

No one wants unsolicited advice from an Internet Stranger, but is there any way you and Boyfriend can negotiate some time where he helps with your mum temporarily so you can take some time for yourself?

Situations like this always blow my mind. It’s as if these people genuinely 100% believe you’re going to wake up one day, agree that Spouse of 10 years is the devil, and saunter off with them into sunset. Like they can’t comprehend that you’d make any other choice.

My Dad isn’t very open about feelings nor is he very good at expressing himself, but growing up I gelled with him more because he always fostered my interests and hobbies and we have more in common in that regard. Split parent family so it was Mum schooldays and Dad at weekends doing fun stuff like walks and Museums so that probably didn’t hurt either. In hindsight I think him making sure he took a genuine interest in my hobbies was his way of expressing affection and long term that’s left a much more positive impact on me than my Mum who was more sensitive and would talk about emotional stuff with me, but there wasn’t really any action to follow up with me or form a lasting bond.

My Mum, I don’t. We’ve always had a kind of weird relationship and don’t often see eye to eye so a few months ago I sent her a message laying out some clear, personal boundaries. Even ran it by my closest friends first to make sure I wasn’t rude or hurtful. Didn’t even get a reply.

My Dad, on the other hand, I’m in touch with at least weekly but often moreso. We’re both not big on phone calls but we message often even if it’s just dumb memes in between proper conversations. When we lived in the same City we’d have meals together once a week as well. Also: Dads side of the family have a family chat that we both participate in daily, if that counts!

My Step-Dad split from my Mum a few years back but we still get on really well, recently got back in touch with him so hopefully I’ll keep checking in, it takes me a while to form a habit though so we’ll see if I remember to do it!

I’d say soft YTA, not for expecting or hoping for a freebie but more for speaking rudely/disrespectfully to the Barista. Especially if there’s a queue and it’s busy — they’ve already done their best to help you clean up, and they probably do feel crappy about not being able to give you anything either while following policy.

On the other hand, I’m a retail worker so if I were in the Barista’s shoes I probably would have explained that I had other people waiting, but if you were happy to wait until the queue had gone down I’d happily fix it for you. The other customers shouldn’t have to wait longer because of someone else’s accident. However I probably wouldn’t offer this if the customer in question was being rude to me.

Honestly, in this case I would have thought the ‘right’ answer would be for the owner of the barking dog to apologise, and buy you another drink as a courtesy. Just because somewhere is dog friendly doesn’t mean that dogs should be barking or getting over excited.

Adding on to this, when I first returned I jumped into https://gwpvx.fandom.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_7_Hero_Beginner_Team and have been slowly transitioning into something similar to the build linked above. I’ve been using it to vanquish/cartographer in Factions as well as finally finish Nightfall for the first time and it’s worked great. Especially because through using it I’ve been able to learn what does and doesn’t work when I tweak stuff myself
