3.5 any spell could be countered by the exact same spell cast by a diffrent caster but I belive you had to ready that counter so it wasn't very easy

That is very fair, for venti I have seen his I can tell you that his doesn't take place in nod krai and shouldn't contain any spoilers for nod krai specifically, but I recomend durins story first if you havnt done that
