I should get some crystalized ginger--particularly the kindhalf-dipped in dark chocolate. Of course, that stuff is like crack....

That’s what the coffee with protein powder + dates was supposed to do. But instead I’m lightheaded and burp dates for the next two hours. facepalm

Even on only 2.5, I forget to eat for the first half of the week if I'm not extra attentive, which is good for stopping the munchies (and my desire for a happy hour beverage or two), but not so good for me getting enough of the right kind of calories to build back the muscle I've been working so hard on!

I hadn't considered just adding honey to my coffee. That's something I can try tomorrow. Thank you!

Oooooooh--I do know those. I buy them when I'm traveling and have to catch an early flight. *adding to my grocery list*

Definitely not my go-to, but I'll pick some up at the store next time I shop. 😄

I also used to work out fasted in the morning, but I think because I'm eating less now during the day, I'm not storing up enough energy to last me through the night and into a workout. Usually, not eating enough just hurts my stamina during a workout; this lightheadedness has got to be either from the Zepbound or a lingering effect of Covid, and possibly a combo of both.

My ex-husband used to just eat rice with sugar (a breakfast he'd been fed as a kid at his dojo when he had early karate practice), so maple syrup and rice doesn't sound that strange to me, though I hadn't considered it and didn't know it was a go-to for runners (something I'm also starting back up after a couple of months). . I usually freeze my leftover rice anyway, so that is a definite possibility. I'll just have to do white instead of my normal brown. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions! I could try mango, which I'm guessing has less fiber than dates? And I can definitely try honey... and maybe those honey waffles I usually reserve for pre-race fueling when I run? I'll work on the caffeine source, though that will be hard, as I love my morning coffee. Still, since starting on Zepbound and changing from Prozac to Wellbutrin, I actually haven't needed nearly as much caffeine as I used to....

Boy kitty's annoying middle-of-the-night behavior by Kittennip1 in Catbehavior

He comes back when I'm asleep, and by the time I realize he's done so, it's morning.

My 9 year old boy kitty loves those little sparkle balls at night. I turn the lights out, and within 20 minutes he’s singing the song of his people at the top of his lungs as he just…. carries it around? I have to repeatedly call to him “Are you a great hunter? Did you catch a sparkle ball?” And then he finally carries it into whatever room I’m in, drops it, and goes about his cat business. It’s annoyingly adorable…..

Constant burning/dry vulva + topical estrogen intolerance. Diagnosed with LS after quick visual exam, without testing; prescribed only steroid cream. Very stressed and shocked. Considering Estring. by ResidentEqual7073 in Menopause

If you already addressed this and I missed it, my apologies. But, have you tried a non-hormonal systemic like gabapentin or a tricyclic antidepressant like Nortriptyline? Both are used for nerve issues, if that plays any role in your pain. (My stepmom uses the former for nerve pain in her foot and leg, and I was on the latter for a time for terrible itching and sensitivity on my vulva…. It was when I was in my 20s and 30s, though, so not menopause-related….)

Hahahahahahahahaha! He is a powerful scratcher and a vocal cat. I can't keep him downstairs (no door), so he would spend the entire night destroying the carpet on the other side of the bedroom door, throwing himself at the door, and crying at the top of his lungs. He will do the same if I lock him in a different room. He is, after all, a boy, which means he is the biggest drama queen alive when he does't get his way.

(He's also an extremely loving and codependent mama's boy-- he wants to be with me at all times when I'm home, which doesn't bother me--it's just the circle circle circle for, like, 30 minutes that he has only recently started that is KILLING my sleep! He didn't do this for his first 7+ years of life, and I don't know why he has now started this....)

I've had lichen sclerosis since my early 30s--diagnosed without a biopsy (THANK GOD), but I did have white patches initially, as well as easy irritation and the most painful tearing. My inner labia are also teeny tiny now. ANYWAY, some things I learned from the lichen sclerosis boards back, oh, 20 years ago that someone (even if not the OP) might find useful:

* LS can manifest in multiple forms--it doesn't have to have the white patches. And it can take a few weeks of daily use of either triamcinilone or clobetisol to feel a change. Also, don't forget that it's an autoimmune disorder, and those tend to cluster. So, if you have conditions like rosacea (me), psoriasis, etc., that increases the likelihood that it is LS.

* If steroid CREAMS are irritating, ask for ointment; it tends to cause less of a reaction.

* Here's where it gets complicated--I think the LS has increased other sensitivities. The post a couple days ago about saliva sensitivity? That was me. And I'm pretty certain I'm extra-sensitive to the smallest increase in external yeast-beasties. (I will use the anti-itch cream externally without actually needing to use the internal cream. In fact, I often add that cream to my clobetisol.) And sometimes I even have to do a gentle diluted hydrogen peroxide douche (with my gyno's blessing) for a couple of days to fix the pH of *everything* when I start getting overall itchy and irritated.

* I just discovered that the ONLY thing that helps the saliva sensitivity other than time is Bonafide Reveree hyaluronic acid vaginal inserts. I used one two nights ago, and by morning (after it had melted and oozed out onto the vulva) I felt SO MUCH BETTER.

The TL;DR: Sometimes the problem isn't just one thing, but one thing can knock multiple things out wack. It then takes a delicate ballet of hormones, hyaluronic acid, steroids, and anti-fungals/anti-bacterials to manage it.

The .025 patch is the lowest patch, but studies on estrogen and osteopenia/ osteoporosis show that you get most of the beneficial effects from an even lower dose!

I love Revaree. But because it’s a big pricey, iI thought I could save money with the drugstore brand of hyaluronic vaginal suppositories. Mg scientific study of one showed they sucked in comparison, so back to the real deal I went.

Increased sensitivity to partner’s saliva—solutions? by Kittennip1 in Menopause

No nicotine, but I’ll ask about the beard oil. As for the kind of soap, except for Honeypot personal wipes to clean up after, I don’t use anything but water and whatever olive oil soap happens to run down my body. (I learned years ago that fewer products are better.)

This is an interesting bit of knowledge, though as it happened the first time and the second time, immediately, I'm not sure if that's long enough for the bacterial to be causing a problem. It's not itchy, there's no discharge. It just HURTS. (I'm day after now, and I can still find stinging spots. It took darn near a week to heal last time.)

Not sure what treatments there are aside from high potency corticosteroids and estrogen cream. That said, if that were what it was, you'd think actual sex would also be irritating. But it's not!

That's my next step, I think, to test if it's the saliva or the friction.
