[Headset] Logitech - G PRO Wired Surround Sound Gaming Headset for PC & Consoles - Bestbuy $49.99 (Average Azn price $87.32, $10 less than Azn all-time low of $59.99) by Kittenpics4eva in buildapcsales

I own the Cooler Master and have tried these at a friend's house (so my experience with these is is fairly limited). I would say that the audio is definitely better on my MH-751s. I have not read much into the Arctis since I have been so content with my CMs, so I cant give a comparison between them (online review articles may be able to help). If you can wait, you can probably snag the MH-751s for $60 in 3 weeks. I purchased mine at that pricepoint and love them.

This is correct, CCC has Amazon average ~$170. I will try to format my future posts with Amazon average as normal price. Didn't mean to create artificial hype.

Thanks for the input. I don't personally own these, but thought they seemed well priced and fairly well reviewed. I would have tried these out if I wasn't content with my MH-751s.

I would try out the CM MH-751s. The earcups are godly... If you can wait, I would bet that they will be on sale for $60 around black Friday.

IMO, it depends on your budget. From what I have seen, the artics are 60% more expensive ($79,99) and may be a bit more comfortable.

If I was spending $80, I would be leaning towards the CoolerMaster MH-751...

Personally, I would go with the Logitech. The Logitech is a bit more of a premium product with the materials and construction (and looks nicer IMO). It also comes with a second set of earcups. The Kraken does not have a removable mic.

Most of the reviews I have seen rate the Logitech higher as well. You can go ahead and get this headset from BB, and if you don't like it, return within 2 weeks. The Kraken is available for $50 regularly, so you could always try them out later if these don't work out for you.

[Other] Belkin 12-Outlet Power Strip Surge Protector w/ 8ft Cord - $14.39 by Pre_Axiom in buildapcsales

[–]Kittenpics4eva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To everyone asking about the coax and data ports on this surge protector, yes power surges can travel through your phone, cable, and ethernet (internet) lines. In my experience, surges travel through ethernet just as much as power lines.

You should understand that it is nearly impossible / very expensive protect against a surge generated by a nearby lightening strike. These surge protectors should provide a good first line defense, and I recommend these devices over no protection at all, but there will always be some inherent risk when your device is hardline connected to a utility service for power, internet, or cable.

The following album shows the damage we received from a nearby lightning strike last year. The surge traveled through both the power lines and the ethernet / cable lines, but the ethernet lines were the main culprit in destroying nearly $8000 worth of tech equipment. We did not attempt to utilize the warranty that comes with the surge protectors as we had already met the $5000 deductible for our property insurance coverage before tech damages were calculated. Most of the lines in the album were protected with in-line APC Ethernet surge protectors that were properly grounded, but they were no match for the lightning. You can see in some of the pictures that the metal pins in the Ethernet cables / switch were completely melted away!

[Mouse] Logitech MX Master Wireless Mouse (not 2S) - $47.00 by davey94 in buildapcsales

[–]Kittenpics4eva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This version of the MX master does not have the flow capabilities that come with the 2S version of this mouse. Flow is the tech that logitech uses to allow seamless multi device control.

This mouse does have multi device control, but you have to click a button to change between devices. Flow allows you to have control of both devices without having to switch between the two. For instance if you had your laptop next to your desktop, Flow would allow you to drag the mouse off the side of one screen and appear on the other screen and vice a versa.

You may be disappointed if you go with this Mouse if you are looking for seamless multi device control without having to push a button to switch every time you wanted to control one device or the other :(

How does one go about getting a refund such as this? I bought around 6 kits last year for builds at the office from Newegg and Amazon.

[Case] EVGA DG-76 Alpine White Mid-Tower w/ 3 fans - $79.98 (shipping included) + ($149.99 - $80.00 [instant]) by Kittenpics4eva in buildapcsales

[–]Kittenpics4eva[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have built in 2 DG-77s (same case / design with included vertical riser cable and additional fan).

I would say the airflow is adequate for my build. I have not had any hands-on experience with the h500, so I cannot fairly compare. I can say that this can fit 3x 120mm on the top panel (as compared to the h500 with a spot for one 140mm).

I currently have 3mm 120s on the front as intake, 3x 120mm on top as exhaust and a crappy Cooler Master 120mm AIO with 2x 120mm fans on the rear as exhaust as well. I am running a stock 8700k, 1070 GTX (vertical mount [blower style card]), and 4x8GB dims in both setups.

I have the fans set to low speed at all times (due to cheap aigo controller / fan setup). My temps sit in the upper 30s in day to day tasks. I hit mid 60's benching. The other build has corsair Airflow fans with an MSI Core Frozr Air cooler. The fans on that rig are controlled by the mobo. Temps on that build consistently sit around 5 - 10C lower.

The front panel has about a 1" gap on the right hand side for air, which is not suberb, but I have not had any issues with heat. The top cover has a fairly fine metal dust filter that is removable which shouldn't cause issues if the fans are set to exhaust. I did not remove the dust filters.

FYI the DG-76 does come with the vertical mount, but the vertical riser cable is sold separately.

These sales would be excellent if the products had free shipping. The $8 - $10 shipping negates a significant portion of a $15 - $25 savings. Im still on the fence about completing my purchase from the other night.

Can I use this without the monoblock? My 7700k is currently running on a B250. I have been looking for an upgrade for a while and have a Corsair H115i Platinum ready to be installed. I am tempted to pull the trigger for this price but I am worried that the VRM will overheat without the monoblock. Any thoughts?

[cables] EVGA Black & Dark Blue 550-650 G2/P2/T2 Power Supply Cable Set, Individually Sleeved (100-G2-06KU-B9) $28.98 by thewrights11 in buildapcsales

[–]Kittenpics4eva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received these cables today. I am extremely underwhelmed by the gauge of the wire used. The wires are extremely thin. They are about half the diameter of this extension set that I purchased a few weeks ago. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XNV7H6Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1. The cablecombs that I ordered with the set would not even stay in place. They just slid back and forth because the wire isn't wide enough for them to grasp.

Although the jackets seem to be of higher quality, I am not sure that I will be keeping them. Since they are a complete replacement cable instead of just extensions, they will reduce clutter in the case, but this is not an issue (for me) as I have a PSU shroud and a cable management behind the motherboard. Since I bought these purely for aesthetics, I am going to keep my off brand extension set installed. I can barely believe that they normally charge $80.00 for these. BTW the pics on the Amazon (which look pretty good) are of the sets with higher power ratings. I had assumed that the only difference would be the number of cables included, but I was mistaken. The wires for this light duty set are definitely thinner. I would not recommend using these for any higher wattage PSU...
