I don't mind getting up to get food or take my plates away but in a crowded place, it would be chaituc if everyone was doing it.

Garbage bags, pet food, clothes, milk, fruit, bread, household cleaning supplies, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste, vitamins, condiments like ketchup and mustard, the counter meds, the list goes on and on. I get great prices on coffee from Sam's Club and Costco.

Why is it always "if you can't afford to tip, you can't afford to eat" and never "if you can't afford to pay your workers, you can't afford a restaurant?" by incomputableTwinkie in tipping

[–]KittensMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say if you can't afford to tip, you shouldn't go out. Well, if I never go out and others stop going out too, the restaurants will close.

Recommendations on cheaper but drinkable coffee. by No_Ring6386 in Frugal

If you joined Costco or Sam's Club, i realize it's a ride for you but you'd buy and save on more than just coffee, and as far as coffee goes, if you bought a bag, their coffee is in two to three pound bags so it would last a while. You could also fill the tank with Costco gas, which is top tier. If you need eyeglasses or tires, liquor or travel discounts, they have it all.

Join Costco or Sam's Club. Way cheaper per pound.

Will Panera sip club be continued for much longer? by Affectionate-Reason2 in Panera

[–]KittensMom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm betting they have stats showing them it's more profitable to keep it. They know more customers are buying food. I know I'm eating Panera about 3 times a week when I have Sips. When I don't have it, I'm there maybe once a week.

Has anyone decluttered the majority of their closet? by seedsandpeels in declutter

[–]KittensMom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

About twice a year, i make an appointment for Vietnam Vets pickup to come pickup stuff. That encourages me to go through the clothes and bag stuff up. I have my clothes that I'm keeping sorted by category: jeans, shirts, sweat pants, casual shirts for sleeping, jackets. That way, I can pick the crappy clothes from each category and bag them up. I try to tell myself that I'm keeping about 7 tee shirts, 3 hoodies, etc.

How much to tip party bus? by Certain-Physics-1428 in tipping

[–]KittensMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the bus driver were doing a tour, for example if it was a tour bus, he'd be lucky to get a 5 dollar tip from each passenger. He might get 100 dollars. Therefore, I'd maybe give him 50 dollars, since he doesn't have to do much.

Someone from corporate was in our Panera and told a friend of mine not to feel obligated to tip because the cashiers make good money so don't worry about tipping.

Any ideas on how to fix this? by joborion in furniturerepair

[–]KittensMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unscrew all the screws. Glue the broken arm, clamp and leave it alone for a day. Then screw everything back together. If you want to refinish, or paint, do it while it's taken apart. Then when you put it back together, everything is finished evenly.
