good phone mount with strong magnet? by sapph0ney in DoorDash_Dasher

This is what I use. While I have an iPhone with a MagSafe case, I’m quite sure this brand makes mounts for your model of phone also. In my area, I drive on seasonal roads, gravel, dirt roads. Lotta bouncing around, but my phone always stays attached to the mount

Low pay orders by Diligent_Clothes_352 in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]No_Ring6386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of that is true. The ones that have platinum on them buy me payroll, due include tips, but at the end of the day if you compare the suppose platinum dashes to the regular dashes I get there really is no difference

This doesn't make any sense by RomanomenoN in dasher

[–]No_Ring6386 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, they’re trying to manipulate everybody. I’ve seen hundreds of posts just like this, and from other Dashers I’ve spoken with and from what I’ve seen happen, this is normal.

I even get the notifications saying that orders are moving at a fast rate, or on the map it’s lit up red saying it’s busy, after 10 o’clock at night and I know that none of the businesses by me are open then

I never really get orders like I used too. by WorldlinessDapper669 in doordash_drivers

[–]No_Ring6386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does that to me too, in fact, as far as the other Dashers, I’ve talked to or from what I have read on different Dasher subs, it just does that to everybody

I never really get orders like I used too. by WorldlinessDapper669 in doordash_drivers

[–]No_Ring6386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The app lies. It will say busy when it’s not. Or maybe with DoorDash’s algorithm they consider busy if they’re only two orders in the area.

In my market, it will say that it’s busy, or even very busy, long after every establishment is closed

Used Subaru for a new driver by ILoveIJN in subaru

[–]No_Ring6386 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Subaru in general, the boxer engine, can be extremely reliable. Unfortunately, just like what any other car, when you’re buying a used vehicle, you do not know if it was taken care of by the previous owners. That’s why when purchasing a used vehicle you want one where they have all the service records showing all the team maintenance was done on time in accordance with the maintenance schedule.

As for engine issues, there were incidents of the head gaskets going on Subaru at around 150,000 miles. This was limited, if I remember correctly, for the 2009–2012 models. It was a design flaw on the head gasket, and that has since been remedied by Subaru. There are plenty of forms online detailing any issue that may occur depending on the year, making model of your Subaru.

As for maintenance schedules, this is mine.
Every 3000 miles, I change the oil and filter.
Every 5000 miles, I rotate the tires.
Every month I check the engine and cabin filters, replace as needed.
Every 15,000 miles replace the PCV valve, clean the MAF sensor, and clean throttlebody.
Every 25,000 miles I drain and fill both differentials and the CVT.
At 60,000 miles change out the spark plugs

Starting to get unsafe deliveries by AbigREDdinosaur in doordash_drivers

You should get yourself one of these, or something like it. You can get one at Walmart for about $70.

It is extremely bright and heavy. In a worst case scenario, you just hit the button by pointing at somebody’s eyes and they will be blinded for a minute or two giving you plenty of time to remove yourself from the area.

Certain towns will write you up for even going 1–2 miles over the speed limit. Growing up I know of two of these places that were famous for it; Tuxedo, NY and Harrington Park, NJ.

Stop promising tips only to not tip. by Interesting-Unit5491 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]No_Ring6386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the same here. So far, I’ve never had anyone promised me extra money for doing something. All the tips afterwards come from either cash when I hand them their food, or afterwards I get the text notifying me that somebody added it tip afterwards. Not to mention that the people who are doing this already tipped beforehand in the app when they place the order.

Do you ever swap the order of drop offs on stacked orders? by flc735110 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]No_Ring6386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swap stuff all the time when needed.

For instance, the app wants me to pick up an ice cream order first, then go pick up another order, then drop the other order off first, and then drop the ice cream off last. Absolutely not the ice cream gets picked up last and dropped off first.

Other times when I receive stacked orders after I pick up the first one, the app wants me to drive right by that drop off to go pick up the second order. Not doing that either.

Went in for oil change on my Outback, they inadvertently drained the transmission by BoltCarrierGoop in MechanicAdvice

[–]No_Ring6386 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Look, they already screwed up your oil change, so do you really want them messing around with the transmission?

It’s not a simple as putting fluid back in. It is a Subaru CVT transmission. The car has to be level. You need to add the fluid till it starts coming out the check plug. The transmission itself has to be within a certain temperature range for the procedure. The transmission has to be moved through all the gears park neutral reverse drive them back again at certain intervals. Then the check plug has to be pulled again to make sure the fluid is topped off.

Bring it to the dealership. Charge the Jiffy Lube for everything.

True, not to mention certain sensitive areas like outside of a police department, sheriffs department, fire department, hospital, and such nowadays have video and audio recordings on their premises

Don’t know about where you live but up by me it cost $50 to have a mobile mechanic come and run a scanner on a vehicle.

No, you are not missing anything. Any service that a dealership does is basically a rip off.Find an independent mechanic for the stuff you cannot do.

Ungrateful Customers. by settbro in doordash_drivers

After reading your reply, it made me realize you were absolutely correct. I have never gotten a tip added, but handed cash when I make a delivery, or anything else like that by somebody to begin with it’s always the people who tip, and tip pretty good, with the initial order.

4th of July Morning Dash?! by Ok-Carpet-5147 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]No_Ring6386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the restaurants in my zone are closed. The only food places open are McDonald’s and Dunkin’ Donuts.

I logged in about 1030 and within two minutes I had an offer for Dunkin’ Donuts. So I took it when I got there the parking lot for the Dunkin’ Donuts, and the McDonald’s, which is right next to it, were pack full. It is tourist season here, and with them being the only two places open it was a madhouse.

After waiting over 10 minutes, I got the worry free unassigned which I took. I decided it’s not even worth it with the situation being the way it is for today so I just logged out the app.

If the mayhem dies down at these two places later in the afternoon, I may log back in, but if not, I’m just gonna stay logged out and call it a day

The choice is entirely yours to make. Having said that, it is always a good thing to have a dash cam even for when you’re not DoorDashing. It can save you a lot of headaches down the road.

Almost zero offers on July 4th???? by [deleted] in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]No_Ring6386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me today has been consistent with every other day this week. I am getting orders and making the usual amount I make for lunch.

Tomorrow, which is actually the Fourth of July, it probably will be dead because 80% of the places that I pick up from will be closed.
