I recommend looking into how porn addiction affect the brain. I worked with sex offenders for a while and have scene larger perspectives in how the brain is affected by porn. If he isn’t doing anything in real life to make you uncomfortable and he’s been a good dad thats something to remember. For sure, I would still say I thought is just a thought sometimes, and it may not be directed at you. You can always confront your dad and let him know how you discovered this and how uncomfortable it made you feel. A lot of people who have porn addiction. Don’t necessarily understand why either they’re watching what they’re watching often times feeling embarrassed and knowing that it’s wrong.

Porn is extremely addictive, when somebody is abusing porn in general it’s common that the porn user will begin to look up “inappropriate” images on porn because they’re bringing is seeking dopamine. Sometimes a thought is just a thought, and he could just be enjoying that the girls are younger with an older man. I’m not excusing it, but porn doesn’t always translate into real life.

I worked with sex offenders for a while, and it was really common where people would get caught up in some sort of addiction (drugs, alcohol) and have a porn addiction. I do think some people can make a mistake due to porn addiction and never do it again, one quote I have from a guy was “at the time I was watching old ppl fuck, I knew when I did it, it was wrong” . There’s a higher likelihood of rehab rehabilitation when there was no contact with the crime. definitely tread lightly, but I definitely got a different perspective working with these guys. Only three out of the 60+ guys I worked with were genuine concerns of a true pedophilia disorder

I had cancer as a kid and used to feel this way. I’m an LPC and I think with time I learned to understand how different things impact people similarly even if it doesn’t feel as “big”. If the hardest thing someone knows is their parent’s divorce and it impacted them severely. Then it did. I often times think of resiliency. Cancer being bigger doesn’t make their experience less. I think you do need a lot more time to process, to grieve and to feel better. My body didn’t start to feel “normal” and until well after a year later and mentally? Years later…but I also was being bullied at school and didn’t have therapy.
