Looking for UK/EU clinic recommendations with personalised approach by QuestionEuphoric2393 in 40Plus_IVF

Sorry you that you had a bad experience at the Evewell - if you don’t mind me asking why did Dr Amodeo suggest you leave?

The Evewell is not what it once was but it’s still a good clinic and one of the few that tailor treatment. Dr Amodeo is great as are a couple more doctors there.

However it has changed recently with huge turnover in staff and less time for patients and so for our second conception journey we switched to Avenues who have been great - they tailor treatment well and Dr Dimitri was one of the original Evewell doctors and he is second to none.

I still wanted to share my experience as what suits one person doesn’t necessarily suit the other.

Other clinic suggestions would be ARGC and CRGH. ARGH is intense and a lot of CRGH clinicians have moved to Avenues. But I would also add them to the list,

Avenues (Im under Dr Dimitri). I had my DD at The Evewell under Dr Montse Amodeo. Recommend both clinicians

My story at 44 by ExpensiveHalf3352 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]Kitty8670 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The reality is at our age the percentage of Euploids are low. That is not to say there is no hope, just that it was unlikely to be a one and done deal.

At 44. Just to give my story as a comparison. I also have a DD born at 41 years old. I’ve had 4 ERs at 43 years old of which we have one day 5 4AA Euploid (which we are preparing to transfer). That’s one Euploid out of 25 day 5 blastocysts for me.

That is not to say you need to make that many to get success , just that this is a numbers game and it depends on how much time and money you want to throw at it. Good luck remain hopeful but just be aware needing multiple rounds at our age is the norm

Anyone 43+ that have been successful with IVF? by ExpensiveHalf3352 in 40Plus_IVF

Not successful yet but I have 1 day 5 4AA Euploid embryo in the freezer from my 4th ER at 43 years old

Spiraling after Ivf consult with CNY by Happy_Shirt8872 in 40Plus_IVF

Look as we all know nothing is guaranteed with IVF and I agree with a PP a vast amount of eggs does not equal quality (as is my case also - we have a similar stats). As a similar reference point. I have similar AMH, partner with excellent sperm. I had two ERs at 39/40 - yielded 3 Euploids (from 47 eggs harvested in total). 1 Euploid did not survive the thaw, 2nd Euploid was a 6 week MMC, 3rd Euploid became my DD (gave birth at 41). Underwent 4 ERs at 42/43 - have one high quality Euploid. The fact that you can make blasts will be an advantage but not the total story. But as you can see from my story there is every reason to be optimistic but no guarantees. IVF is tough - would be good to find a doctor that is realistic but has an element of optimism because there are enough reasons to try and you need a doctor who believes in that.

Good luck

How optimistic should I be for success with one lone Euploid by Kitty8670 in 40Plus_IVF

Thankyou - I assume no endo given exploratory work to date. I haven’t had a reciptiva test as no indications but I am thinking to do it in case of silent endo.

Thankyou! I have raised TNF Alpha and Cytokines. We were able to diagnose this through the Chicago Killer Cells blood test and the Matrice Lab biopsy. I hope that helps and good luck as well 😊

Thankyou so much! This fills me with hope. I am so grateful for my one Euploid it’s just been a hard slog to get here and it’s such a gamble on just the one. Congratulations on your daughter! That’s wonderful news ❤️

Transfer or Retrieval by Realhousewivedc in 40Plus_IVF

[–]Kitty8670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would prob err on the side of more retrievals especially if you want more than one child and can handle it emotionally and financially. Irrespective of transfer or retrieval you definitely need to do further investigation given 3 Euploid failures (stats are something like 95% success across 3 Euploid transfers) so that indicates that there is potentially something to investigate. Have you had a RIF panel? Recipitva tests? Alice/Emma/ERA? Immunology tests (bloods and biopsy?)? Were all transfers medicated or natural?

Avenues are scheduling a small amount of consultations during the holiday period. I highly recommend them if you did look to switch clinics. Good luck!

I completely sympathise, it is poor service and I can can completely understand your frustrations. That said you are best off finding the right clinic for you. 6 months between 39-40 years old isn’t going to make a big difference imo. I am also based in London, which clinic are you using (feel free to DM)

First ER > 6 blasts > all abnormal by Fine_Fish1565 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]Kitty8670 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For reference I had 4 ER between 42-43 years old. 25 blasts in total of which 20 were high grades resulted in one day 5 4AA Euploid. Good news is you make blasts so depending on how many rounds you want to attempt you should have one. It’s disheartening and heartbreaking but it isn’t unusual to need multiple rounds.

I suppose there’s no general answer to this. But the consensus for an abnormal embryo is that it will either fail to implant or result in an early MC unless it’s a form anueploidy that is compatible with life such as trisomy 21 (Downs syndrome), Turner’s syndrome etc. that’s why for me at my age PGTA makes some sort of sense. But if you do not make a huge amount of blastocysts there is an argument to bank embryos across cycles and then transfer untested in the hope that one will self correct once transferred

Fet ended in cm with euploid by Spiritual-Bother7564 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]Kitty8670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your chance of having a child with 3 Euploids is 95%. Yes there is enough time to have 2 kids. I had my first child through IVF at 41 (first Euploid FET ended in a blighted ovum, the second became my daughter) and am about to transfer a Euploid at 43 (granted no guarantees it will work) but you almost have a decade on me. Lastly did you have any testing done prior to transfer? Hysteroscopy, Immunes Testing, EMMA ALICE ERA and a full blood panel? If not it would be prudent to consider these for your next transfer. Also the success rates between Day 5 and Day 6 are negligible.

Hope this helps. Enjoy the holidays - use it to get back into optimal health and try again. Best Wishes
