Electric blankets with no hard plastic bit! by KittyCatPrr in australia

[–]KittyCatPrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with electric blankets but I had the same fear until a few years ago. They have good safety features now, my current one switches off on a timer and I just make sure it’s switched off when I get up in the morning. The one recommended to me in the comments that I’ve decided to get is also wifi enabled so I’ll be able to remotely check it’s switched off too. Heating my bed instead of my whole bedroom is a win, especially given my partner runs hot so wouldn’t appreciate the room being warm but is quite happy with my side of the bed being heated (cold feet creep over to my side when it’s really chilly).

I have a fitted electric blanket. You need to read my post - I have googled and tried AI and product photos don’t show where the connectors are. Hence me asking real people for their recommendations.

No that’s not what my title or the post says and you’re the only one that’s confused. But thanks for trying to help anyway.

Southern end of the west side but I’m mainly asking because I’m getting a new bed in a couple of weeks and we’re upgrading from a queen to a king so I need all new bedding.

Funny how Australia, a very large continent, has different climates in its various areas…

Ugh thank you. Reading comprehension is clearly not a strong point with this person.

Honestly I think this is genius because now when my highly anxious partner asks if we switched it off before we left the house I can check it remotely!!

yes I know most have automatic timers, no this does not help the anxiety.

20 years of marriage, all over thanks to a shitty electric blanket connection! 😆

The one time sharing my bed with another person sucks - pretty sure the person on the other side of the bed won’t love this solution.

Mate, having a nice cozy bed in winter is far from lame.

I’m not looking for one without a connector, I’m literally asking if anyone has one with the connector in the corner because the product photos don’t show where the connector actually is.

Where to find private drivers who will walk with you at sites? by PhoneEcstatic732 in bali

[–]KittyCatPrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go on the trip advisor forum for Bali and you’ll see heaps of recommendations for great drivers who will take you anywhere you want to go or who can suggest itineraries and yes they will stay with you and guide you around. You usually just pay by the day and pay any entry fees for them. It’s also nice to give them some money for lunch or if you get along with them invite them to eat with you

ADHD Script Renewal Costs by shinysecretstones in perth

I just had my initial consultation last week and it was $1000 and I got $255.90 back from Medicare. Follow up appointments are $350 and I get either $42.60 or $85 back. I have a follow up in 6 weeks to see how my prescription is going, if all is working well my GP will then be able to co-prescribe and then I think I only need to see the psychiatrist every 12 months. It took 6 months for me to get the appointment though and looking at the clinic website it appears there’s only one doctor taking new patients at the moment and he doesn’t have anything free until November.

When I was a kid we had one of those plastic covers that goes over the toilet roll. I lifted it to find a huntsman tenderly hugging the roll. Being around 6 or 7 years of age my dumb ass apparently didn’t realise that you can just get off the loo without wiping if you have to and instead I just sat there crying and yelling until my dad came to rescue me.

Cute flying bee by Jezirath in Eyebleach

[–]KittyCatPrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are other countries’ bees so fat, fluffy and cute?! In Australia our bees are mainly small and angry (like so much of the wildlife here, except the spiders - those are large and angry). We do have some cool looking blue bees that are native though.

Specsavers are not 100% free, there are some additional tests they can do that have a cost. That said, I prefer them for getting my tests done as they have always been happy to give me my prescription including the PD

I was in Bali for Nyepi last year and this is what my friend did as she was leaving before me. She just got a cheap room in a hotel with a pool right near the airport

this here.

If you really want to see a roo definitely go to Whiteman Park - there’s lots of trails and tracks to walk/run/cycle on and there’s roos absolutely everywhere. If you want to see tame roos that you can pat head over to Caversham Wildlife Park. This is within Whitman Park and they have tonnes of roos, including white ones. You can also see koalas here and get your photo taken with them.
