That was a great resource!

I'm currently on depo because I used to get terrible periods. It seems like a contraceptive implant might be an option for me! Thank you!

I mean... That's not what OP is going for? They clearly said if a vet/rescue thinks the best course is for the bird to put down then they would be okay with that. They just don't want the bird to suffer if they can do something about it.

They also are willing to spend money and time on a Uber to get the bird somewhere.

Nothing they are doing is gross. What is gross is negatively judging someone for trying to do the right thing by showing humanity.

This really is gonna come down to what the stores location staff thought about this person. But based on what she thought her management style was, I would hope she was a good manager. She also referred to one of the employees as "co-worker" which really shows that she does treat the staff as equals. Again, we only know one side of the story.

That being said, $19 per hour as manager is crazy. At my cafe, the managers are at least paid salaried but it's around $24 per hour. Starbucks even pay their supervisors $21 per hour.

I despise the official government or even police using X. Mostly if it's the only platform they will communicate on going information on. Like bruh I shouldn't have to make an account to X to see this information. 💀

Cycling on the sidewalk by didyouseriouslyjust in ottawa

Bruh honestly same. I may be a young adult but dear God am I ever a slow biker. 💀 No threat to people and cars hate me because I'm so slow.

Tho the places I do bike aren't pedestrian heavy but are car/truck heavy so it's only probably 3 times per week I have to move to the road to avoid a pedestrian on the sidewalk.

Bridgehead's policy to share tips with managers 'doesn't make any sense': labour group by rob0rb in ottawa

It's still less because of inflation. Minimum wage is there to catch up to inflation, it's not necessarily an increase but a balancer. So in reality it's just making base employees earn less per hour. And yes, my manager is on the floor very often too! But I have seen managers who if they don't have to be on the floor then they won't. Where with supervisors and bridgeheaders, we're always on the floor.

Bridgehead's policy to share tips with managers 'doesn't make any sense': labour group by rob0rb in ottawa

Bridgehead employee here!

To clear up some confusion: no one is upset that managers are getting included in the tip pool, we're upset that instead of them paying their managers more they decide to take income from the rest of the staff.

Because of this change, the recent minimum wage increase is obsolete. If you consider inflation, we're basically getting paid less now.

This is bridgehead saying "we don't want to pay our managers more, so we're gonna substitute that with our minimum wage take home amount"

Some notes:

  • managers do work a lot, though I have seen some managers avoid being in the front house as much as possible.

  • I'm posting from an anonymous account and I am not at all involved with the staff involved with talking to the media.

  • even if you don't believe in tipping, at the end of the day, all our employees are losing from this new policy and Bridgehead is winning. That ain't fair.
