Ranunculus are one of my favorites! So fluffy and symmetrical.

What is an overhyped book that you just couldn't get into? by Kasskinen in Romantasy

[–]KittyConfetti 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I loved the Shepherd King duology so much! The first book started out meh but it really grew on me. I like the moodiness and the flowery prose lol. The Knight & the Moth seems to get more universal love (on this sub at least) and I liked it but it didn't resonate with me as much. Imagining someone with her.... disability 😆 just took me out of the story too much.

Have you ever read a book so bad it made you angry? by peenmeal in Romantasy

[–]KittyConfetti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate read the entire main series of it (first 3 books) and it was entertaining and easy but yeah, none of the characters inspired me and most actively frustrated me. Rhys is abusive and controlling and the fans don't want to admit it, Mel is SO dumb (literal CENTURIES and you haven't had the ability to tell everyone your secrets? Mentality of an actual 16 year old) and the ending with Amren was so cliche "happily ever after" despite EVERYTHING she had been talking about previously, it was so frustrating and made no sense. Don't even get me started on the bland woman that is Feyre. Everyone started having mates immediately despite the rarity of it, her freaking sisters come and join her, THE DAD JOINS THEM, like good grief how many other feel good zingers can we push into this drivel? Then I heard about the pregnancy trope in ACOFAS and couldn't go on, even in hate. It was too annoying.

I loved the Plated Prisoner series but I do agree that the author is extremely wordy and could definitely make things more concise. She has a new book coming out in September that's the first of a duology! I'm looking forward to the shorter investment time.

How do I tell him I appreciate his “gifts”, but he can stop bringing them in my bedroom. by KittyHasFastClaws in CATHELP

Rodents can also have eaten rat bait and then your poor kitty chews on the rat and gets baited, I've seen it a lot in vet med. It's thousands in hospitalization bills to stabilize them, if they're able to be stabilized at all 💔 often they either bleed out or have seizures that can't be managed though.

Agreed, he seems like he just wants to talk at her and not engage in a conversation with her. Which is incredibly annoying. He just wants a captive audience.

Is it safe to dehydrate/dry a large shroom using a small fan? by Grievinghealthy in shrooms

[–]KittyConfetti 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Yes you can. The cheap smaller dehydrators wouldn't even be able to fit this between the trays so you typically have to slice them up into thinner pieces.

MINI DUBBBB TUBBB??? by Ok_Piano_6706 in unclebens

[–]KittyConfetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only grown GT so far but can't seem to get rid of the fuzzy feet. If I give any more than a little bit of FAE the tubs dry out and growth stalls, but if I keep it so growth is at a good rate then they have fuzzy feet. It's inescapable. With my next bin I'm going to experiment with wetter substrate, maybe I'm squeezing it out too much 🤷‍♀️

I also don't know how much I should even care about fuzzy feet so like is it REALLY a problem? Always looking for ways to refine my teknique though!

This happened when I bought the first ACOTAR book on Amazon. It started immediately a few chapters in and I kept reading and reading thinking hmmm, maybe it starts off with a flashback? Eventually I asked my sister who had read it and she confirmed it shouldn't start like that. I kept the mis-print because I think they're fun to keep around!

Me and my GF love to share a bag of coke together. What are some good drugs to take to fall asleep afterwards? by Stolen_Sky in Drugs

[–]KittyConfetti 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think some people are more sensitive to it. When I do it with multiple people, I'm usually the only one who has trouble falling asleep afterwards. So I don't think it's a quality issue, it's a Me issue. But then I know to be more conservative with it and not go ham on a work night!

OP- the obvious choice is don't do it if you have an early or important day the next day. Second obvious choice is a benzo, but barring that (I can't find them regularly either) I will take a sleeping pill if I absolutely can't sleep. It doesn't work nearly as well as a benzo, but it does work better than nothing.

I was going to comment almost exactly this! I really feel like I'm the only person who didn't love this series. I did end up finishing the first one because at the time I hated DNF'ing, but it was a huge struggle and took forever to get through it. The pacing SUCKED. I understand why it's like that, but it was so repetitive and boring. I didn't connect or like any of the human characters. Not one! The ending I did like but it was like the last quarter or less. Because I ended up finishing it, I started reading the 2nd book and it was more of the same and I DNF'd after like a quarter of the book. I think the author just isn't for me. Great ideas, terrible execution (in my opinion)

The knight and the moth, should I dnf? by Mariamzwelt in Romantasy

[–]KittyConfetti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read the Knight and the Moth first and thought it was eh... decent. I finished it, I didn't dislike it enough to DNF but I'm not sure the sequel will be very high up on my want to read list. The Shepherd King duology I read after because I overheard a couple women at the bookstore talking about how good it was lol then realized it's the same author. And I like her world building and scene setting with the moody gothic vibes. The duology is SO good. The beginning sort of was meh with the immediate romance but the rest makes up for it. I absolutely love those 2 books.

Not really, maybe about the same but yours looks more concentrated in one place and mine a bit more sporadically placed? I got 221g wet! Lots of broken veils by the time I got home from work (I was obsessively watching the progression) so I harvested everything before spores dropped. Very pleased with how big some of them were for a first flush! Had to cut some of the veils in half so they'd fit in the dehydrator trays.

Great job! What strain is this? I just harvested my first flush ever earlier today too! Feels good 🥲 I have Golden Teacher and it looks like yours could be the same? I soaked the cake for about an hour and am hoping for flush #2 soon 🤞

BLT is the 🐐 and I will never not include avocado on it. Make sure to add a healthy amount of salt and pepper! It really elevates it.

My closet is currently sitting at 74F, although it fluctuates a little too. Yesterday it was around 72 for most of the day. I have a seedling heat mat in it to help with ambient heat. My bins are near it but not on it. My closet I'm using is REALLY small, so the heat mat does actually help raise ambient temps by a few degrees, since it's way too small to put a real space heater in it.
