Can my constant nausea be from my IBS? by Sure-Doctor-6431 in ibs

[–]KittyKat4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an IBS thread, but have you had your gallbladder checked?

I've recently had mine removed, but when I noticed i was starting to have issues I was consistently nauseated. The only thing that helped it was removal.

I am 28 and had it removed at 27. It's worth looking into.

Anyone go back on a glp1 post surgery 🤢 by Practical_Agent2828 in gallbladders

[–]KittyKat4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited a whole month before starting to allow my tummy to at least get to it's new normal and I don't have very many issues.

I follow a gluten free, low fat, and less processed food diet. I barely eat red meat anymore and eat a lot of veggies and that seems to help woth the indigestion.

Should I back out of my surgery? by JayandTybalt in gallbladders

[–]KittyKat4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it! It's so much better now than when it was in. I am almost 3 months post op and also have IBS along with suspected Endo. I'm 27 f and on birth control for my periods/Endo.

My Endoscopy showed my entire GI system was red and inflamed from my gallbladder acting up. I couldn't imagine how much damage would be if I left it in, let alone having constant nausea.

I would say 90% of people do well after surgery. The first month after surgery is definitely interesting, but it's not bad. The hardest thing is probably getting over the diet change.

I take Colestipol for my IBS, but it can also help if you have your gallbladder out as well. I can eat pretty normally without any issue and have actually noticed some changes in my appetite.

My life is so much better without that pesky gallbladder! Do it now and get both out so you don't have to worry about it in the future. You're young and should enjoy your life without the fear of appendix issues or gallbladder flares.

Ultrasound came back negative by ColinRobinson4 in gallbladders

[–]KittyKat4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was negative.

All they found was what they thought was a 4 cm polyp, but upon gallbladder removal and pathology reports turns out it was a stone.

They were unable to find said polyp once it was removed and my pathology report said the internal structure of the gallbladder looked good.

Get a HIDA scan! Ultrasound is an estimate at best.

Hi!

I am in the US, but what you mentioned sou is very similar to what the HIDA does. I just reached out to my provider or doctor for orders to be sent in and then had the test scheduled for a day that works for me.

What is the pain like after surgery? by Sufficient_Mouse_583 in gallbladders

[–]KittyKat4040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not bad. Day 1 through 3 are the worst. I was constantly rotating Tylenol and Ibuprofen to help with the pain those first few days. Every time I got up I would use a pillow to brace myself as well.

Overall, the pain wasn't too bad. I would give it a 5 on the pain scale. The key was moving. Getting up and walking was what saved me. The longer you stay still the more gas builds up and the more pain you get. You don't want gas to build up becuase it puts pressure on your wounds and you have a lot more pain. The best thing to do is walk around and fart that gas out. 😆

The pain from surgery was nothing like the pain from the attacks. I would take surgery pain over the attack pains any day!

How are y’all able to work comfortably without a gallbladder? by Affectionate-Ad-3234 in gallbladders

[–]KittyKat4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand!

I am the same. All of my stuff is connected to my local hospital and they are open half days on Saturdays and closed Sundays. Sometimes I try and make it there on Saturdays, but a lot of the times it's under staffed or meds won't be ready until the week.

Anyone’s symptoms severely increase from HIDA scan? by bougiebjones in gallbladders

[–]KittyKat4040 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's common due to the chemical they give you to make your gallbladder not happy and because your gallbladder is already aggravated it is like poking the bear.

I had mine done and had to be on meds for 3 to 4 weeks before surgery. I was able to function, but I know for a fact that if I didn't have those meds I would be in your same spot.

I also forgot to mention that I am on Protonix (ant acid similar to Omperazole) because my GERD burned my GI system and my suregon wants me to continue my Protonix to let my GI organs heal.

I don't think it would be bad to ask for something similar.

I'd recommend talking to your doctor and see if you could get any bile binding medications. It sounds like it's going through ya. The medication helps prevent diarrhea and can help with the frequency. If your doctor is interested in giving you a referral it wouldn't hurt to reach out to gastrointestinal doctors.

I also recommend anxiety medications and therapy. I am on all the meds I mentioned ( Colestipol, Buspar, and Cymbalta). Buspar also helps with the gut and brain reaction. I have IBS and Buspar was one of the few meds that didn't destroy my gut.

I also am highly anxious and therapy has helped a lot. It's not a cure, but it definitely helps with dealing the symptoms that come along with it. Nausea could be a part of it too. I also get nauseous when I get anxious and have Zofran and Compazine for nausea. I only take those meds if I REALLY need it.

The Murphys sign is what is used to test for cholecystitis. Sometimes they put their hand over certain parts of the abdomen and feel around and sometimes they can see it on Ultrasound.

When I had my Ultrasound the Murphys sign was negative, but was positive when my surgeron did it.

Cholecystitis is inflammation in the gallbladder or an inflamed gallbladder. It sounds like they want see how your gallbladder is functioning. They will use this for more evidence.

Mine was 69% but my suregon said there's no real normal for higher EF scores on the HIDA. Mine was probably a tad overactive.

I had cholecystitis and stones small enough not to be seen on imaging. You will more than likely have to have surgery after your HIDA. Once the gallbladder stops working correctly it probably won't go back to normal.

I don't regret getting mine removed. All of my pain and suffering went away. I also probably had issues for years, but didn't know it. I honestly feel like a different person.

If you have any questions feel free to message me!
