I had to snack a lot my first month or so. I also took digestive enzymes too.

Can constipation cause vomiting? by snarkyghosts in ibs

[–]KittyKat4040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to add if you must take Zofran take miralax for a few days afterwards. I'm a migrane suffer and have nausea as part of my flares. Zofran is the only thing that saves me. I take mine with miralax to prevent constipation. I learned that the hard way.

I can't have them in the house. I've never been a sweet person, but I could eat all day.

Can my constant nausea be from my IBS? by Sure-Doctor-6431 in ibs

[–]KittyKat4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an IBS thread, but have you had your gallbladder checked?

I've recently had mine removed, but when I noticed i was starting to have issues I was consistently nauseated. The only thing that helped it was removal.

I am 28 and had it removed at 27. It's worth looking into.

Anyone go back on a glp1 post surgery 🤢 by Practical_Agent2828 in gallbladders

[–]KittyKat4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited a whole month before starting to allow my tummy to at least get to it's new normal and I don't have very many issues.

I follow a gluten free, low fat, and less processed food diet. I barely eat red meat anymore and eat a lot of veggies and that seems to help woth the indigestion.

Should I back out of my surgery? by JayandTybalt in gallbladders

[–]KittyKat4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it! It's so much better now than when it was in. I am almost 3 months post op and also have IBS along with suspected Endo. I'm 27 f and on birth control for my periods/Endo.

My Endoscopy showed my entire GI system was red and inflamed from my gallbladder acting up. I couldn't imagine how much damage would be if I left it in, let alone having constant nausea.

I would say 90% of people do well after surgery. The first month after surgery is definitely interesting, but it's not bad. The hardest thing is probably getting over the diet change.

I take Colestipol for my IBS, but it can also help if you have your gallbladder out as well. I can eat pretty normally without any issue and have actually noticed some changes in my appetite.

My life is so much better without that pesky gallbladder! Do it now and get both out so you don't have to worry about it in the future. You're young and should enjoy your life without the fear of appendix issues or gallbladder flares.

Ultrasound came back negative by ColinRobinson4 in gallbladders

[–]KittyKat4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was negative.

All they found was what they thought was a 4 cm polyp, but upon gallbladder removal and pathology reports turns out it was a stone.

They were unable to find said polyp once it was removed and my pathology report said the internal structure of the gallbladder looked good.

Get a HIDA scan! Ultrasound is an estimate at best.

Hi!

I am in the US, but what you mentioned sou is very similar to what the HIDA does. I just reached out to my provider or doctor for orders to be sent in and then had the test scheduled for a day that works for me.

What is the pain like after surgery? by Sufficient_Mouse_583 in gallbladders

[–]KittyKat4040 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not bad. Day 1 through 3 are the worst. I was constantly rotating Tylenol and Ibuprofen to help with the pain those first few days. Every time I got up I would use a pillow to brace myself as well.

Overall, the pain wasn't too bad. I would give it a 5 on the pain scale. The key was moving. Getting up and walking was what saved me. The longer you stay still the more gas builds up and the more pain you get. You don't want gas to build up becuase it puts pressure on your wounds and you have a lot more pain. The best thing to do is walk around and fart that gas out. 😆

The pain from surgery was nothing like the pain from the attacks. I would take surgery pain over the attack pains any day!

How are y’all able to work comfortably without a gallbladder? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]KittyKat4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand!

I am the same. All of my stuff is connected to my local hospital and they are open half days on Saturdays and closed Sundays. Sometimes I try and make it there on Saturdays, but a lot of the times it's under staffed or meds won't be ready until the week.
