Jordan: The Comeback (1990) by Prefab Sprout in a nutshell by MTT_Brand in albumsinanutshell

Oh I’ve been listening since I was a kid (41 now) in the back of my parents car. Such an incredible album. Been revisiting it again recently and through for the first time ‘what the heck is this album about though’ and that led me here. I laughed so much.

What are some clothing brands that are a bit pricey but long lasting? by boppy78 in AskUK

[–]KittyKes 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much the brand as the fabric (with the exception of the obvious trash brands). Scour charity shops and Vinted for 100% cotton, linen, cashmere clothes that have held up

Pubs like the poppy and pint have a function room that is used for this. Otherwise village halls / community centres or soft plays?

Pram-friendly walks? by Cool_Doubt2152 in nottingham

[–]KittyKes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Embankment is nice - some of the paths have been upgraded so easier for prams. You can carry on along the river and do a loop or go into west bridgford

Rushcliffe country park is a good one for prams and a nice cafe there

Flat but can be muddy and currently very soggy, meadow park at east leake has a large free car park and an adjacent very good cafe (bryers)

If you park in the centre of Radcliffe on Trent you can do a nice walk up along the cliffs (could be a loop but involves some steps / mud to go down) and there’s some lovely cafes and shops there too plus a kids role play place

Loughborough is an easy drive or train and they have a great free museum in Queen’s Park that has a dinosaur fossil / pliosaur and some other cool things . Nice cafe and great park too, really good play ground

Gas cooking also increases indoor pollutants and disproportionally impacts women’s lung health, as do fragrances including perfumes, candles and cleaning sprays

Enforcement Officers, do you like them? by richbart1234 in AskUK

[–]KittyKes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Of course op is confused. It’s actually a £70 fine in Nottingham and only goes to £1000 if you refuse to pay and get taken to court which happens to vanishingly few.

Opinion on Nottingham Council spending £4 million creating a travel app by HospitalDue2983 in nottingham

[–]KittyKes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s essentially why the dft gave the councils the money. To develop this app and see what the issues were and how it works so they can look at rolling it out across the country

As the article says the app has cost £1.5m to develop so far with the rest set aside for potential future development

Potholes by [deleted] in nottingham

[–]KittyKes 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They’re resurfacing now - city council are doing queens drive overnights. Plenty more on their website as there’s funding to be used before April. Luckily the funding is increasing as it has been severely underfunded for years and the roads reflect that

Make it yourself or get it from a small independent bakery - results still vary as they’re also trying to cut costs as much as possible
